A lot of standard 1/16" jacks/plugs don't fit through the plastic part of the case, forcing the user to remove the case to plug in the cable. I've already cracked 2 cases, most likely due to the fact that i'm constantly peeling back the top to access the headphone port.
the plastic case is also difficult to fit around the silicone and it seems like that one of the plastic side walls will never fit correctly and be slightly popped out. also no matter how many methods i try, i cannot seem to get the sidewall to come up that last bit and give it a snug fit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had the otter box on my phone since the day I got it. The first one I had a small piece broke on it. When I emailed the company to find out what I could do, I was surprised to find out it was covered under a warranty. I was excited to hear this, I have dropped my phone a few times and this case as saved my phone more then once. I will not take it off my phone ever, I have seen others that use a cheap version of the otter box and they have had to buy new phones because of the damaged done to their phones. THANK YOU Otter Box for protecting my phone. :-))

I really love my Otter Box! I have boasted about it's abilities to protect my phone from its owner. I have dropped my phone several times, and yet the whole thing is in "just-purchased" condition. i really like the feel, and that it's not too bulky. I also like the lifetime warranty. My Otter Box cover chipped just a little when i tried to put it on my phone. The company sent me a new case. :)
The only complaint that I have about my Otter Box is that the silicone part is white. It looks really nice for the first few weeks, but inevitably turns a dingy off-white. I do not know how to restore the bright whiteness, and I don't like the "dirty" look. It's not like I am subjecting my phone case to unusual wear either. So, I just wish there was a way to keep that part white.

The foldable cover over the charger port makes it difficult to put the phone on a speaker dock. Not impossible, but difficult and a little annoying. Otherwise a good product.

The company "Otter" is great. I know there are marvelous products created by Otter though the commuter cover is not the greatest. The white cover stretches out quickly if you have to take the case off to put on your charger and then it doesn't fit properly and it's hard to reconnect the outer case. My outer case actually broke the last time too. I am thankful for the exchange policy. I do think that my next cover may be a lifeproof case though, also through otter. I would like a quality case that can sit in a charger easily.

The Otter Box has great features. The rubber inner layer cushions the phone if it falls. I really like how the plug in spots are covered for protection. Other phone covers let dust and other particles in, as these parts are not protected on them. I have recommended this product to many people. The plastic cover did break (after several drops) but that the phone was protected, which is the important objective!
