Bad molding defect and fatal 30 pin connector flaw

Just got this case for my iPhone 4S. It appears to protect nice and works with the case docks I got but I have two issues with it:
1. Lots of molding material on both the silicon and the plastic wasn't correctly trimmed...so I had to try my hand at it. Ugly ejection mold seems and extra material on the plastic I had to carve away to get the silicon and plastic to mate..because some plastic edges we bigger due to bad cleaning of product after it came out of the mold
2. Serious design flaw with the dock connector opening and gasket.
A. Plastic shell opening isn't physical big enough to correctly connect the apple branded analog video cable to the iPhone to hook it to a TV. Opening is too small above the connector to allow this apple-sold, branded white cable to pass through the case and connect to the phone.
B. The dock gasket is seriously designed wrong. Who puts a flap at the bottom of the case that only goes backwards (where there's bound to be less room in all mounting situations) but also both the plastic shell and the case only allow the gasket to swing out 90 degrees....uh what the heck? In all situations I need the dock connector for why would I want to increase the height of my iPhone during docking by the entire length of the gasket which can only stick straight down and out! If I bend the gasket back more it tears.
Also the gasket was slightly torn already from the insider corner right out of the box! So right there you have a weak spot that continued to rip as I used the gasket.
I ended up having to cut off the dock gasket which really peeved me off because I needed the protection but if I cannot hook anything to the port then I cannot use or charge my phone! Which is more important.
Next time this case is redesigned here's a brilliant idea: allow the gasket to move 270 degrees away from the seated, sealed position! Move toward the user, not away, and test your plastic covers opening size with all currently sold apple cables!!
Obvious poor QC on manufacturing and bad usability design on dock cover and opening size. I planned all my docks and car mounting around this case. Case works fine but the above issues leave me sour. I could forgive the gasket being a hassle but wrong opening size and restricting gasket movement is uncalled for! I mean yeah, it's not like people need to use that dock connector every night or anything...:-)
Otterbox shouldn't have there trusted name attached to this product...
Pros: Durable, looks nice
Cons: Low quality, cannot use apple av cables, dock gasket tears easily

Dont go with White silicone

I have had the blue and white 4S commutter case for about a week. They have gone to a diffrent silicone making it impossible to remove stains. I cary my phone in my pocket like alot of people. The dye from my shorts rubbed off on the white silicone!! I think the case is great and I like the way the white silicone looks but cleaning it is imposible. Go with a dark silicone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No as good as I expected

I would NOT recommend this to anyone. When I first got it, I loved it. It does a wonderful job of protecting my phone but it was poorly designed. The outer part doesn't line up with the silicon part. If you get a white silicon (which I have) it will turn blue/gray from your jeans/dirt. I have tried everything to get it white again but nothing has worked. I'd you wish in buying one I highly recommend you do NOT get on with a white silicon

white silicone makes for a dirty looking phone

I love the color of the pink avon but the white silicone underneath gets dingy looking in less than a day! I think that they should make the same case but with black underneath. Sending it back because I don't want my case to always look dirty. I do like the durability of the cases though, would recommend otterbox for only that reason.
Pros: Durable
Cons: poor design with white silicone

I have recently purchased this case for my iphone 4s. Sadly, the case looks horrible already. The white rubber seems to attract any make-up, dirt etc. that it comes in contact with. I have tried to clean it but have had no success. It was an expensive purchase for me and I won't be able to afford another one any time soon. Every time I look at the dirty case i regret my decision to buy it. It makes me sad.=(

My daughter was given this case for Christmas to go with her new IPhone4s. Before Christmas break was over this case started falling apart. The hard plastic cracked in several places and pieces have been falling off. She did not drop it and she doesn't abuse any of her belongings. It spends most of its time in her pocket.

I own the Pink and White Commuter case (Pink plastic, White Silicone) and I am not happy with wear of the silicone. It becomes dirty so quickly, and it is difficult to clean. I have noticed also, on both the Commuter case and the Defender case that after the case is removed and later put back on, the silicone becomes stretched out and doesn't fit the mold of the plastic. It is really disappointing because these cases are not cheap.
Pros: plastic fits the phone well
Cons: Not durable, silicon stretches out
