Good protection but the hard case breaks very easily. Half the people I know with an Otter Box have a broken one.

I have dropped my iPhone multiple times and the otter box has saved it every time. I know from experience that not all cases do that. I would recommend that the base be rethought as the case would be near to perfect except for not allowing the phone to sit in a docking station.

I knew that I would like this particular case because I had one of these for almost a year and a half. After significant wear and tear, one of the tabs broke away. I took a picture, submitted it and within 5 days of submission, a new case was in my mailbox. My phone has been dropped at least 20 times...no damage. I've had my phone for almost 2 years...not one scratch on the screen or back...at all! Great product.

I bought a purple/white commuter series otterbox for my iPhone 4 a while back, and over time it got worn down and the plastic pieces chipped and cracked in a few places. I filed a warranty form with picture (on the VERY user-friendly warranty site), and patiently waited. This was back in June 2013. By November 2013 I still hadn't heard anything about a replacement case. I went onto the online customer service chat function and was helped by a very polite, very accommodating Otterbox Employee (unfortunately I forget his name). He found that a replacement case should have been shipped out months ago but was somehow missed. He promptly ordered me a new case and it arrived at my door via FedEx a short couple days later.
I am very impressed with this customer service, despite the hiccup.

I purchased my commuter otter box with my IPhone. It has defiantly protected by phone. I drop it a lot and my phone looks new after 1-1/2 years. My case on the other hand didn't fair as well. The hard plastic on the back became brittle and broke. The rubber that the phone fits in stretches after awhile and gets two big for the phone. The best part is I took a pic of my case and Otter box sent me a brand new one, no charge and no questions. Great Service!!! I would recommend!! My husband has a defender Otter Box and it looks like new, (well it is a little dirty).
