I have had 3 commuter cases for my 4s in the past 3 years. I drop my phone an average of 5 times a day, and after 3 years my phone does not have a scratch on it. I cannot imagine the state it would be in if I hadn't bought an Otterbox!

The Commuter gives my phone the protection I want with a sleek, non-bulky design. This was a replacement Commuter, as my original case cracked in two places. The phone had never been dropped or abused in any way.
Pros: sleek and very clean looking.
Cons: Not durable

OtterBox Purple and White Iphone commuter case

I bought the OtterBox case at the end of October in 2012, have needed 3 replacements since. I bought this case due to the protection promise; both a phone replacement if the phone is damaged while in the case (I understand why that is no longer in effect) however my other reason for spending the money for an OtterBox was the LIFETIME warranty on the case, this is no longer the policy either; now it is only a year.
I would not buy another OtterBox case as the policies change way too often and soon enough there won't be a warranty which tells me that OtterBox themselves are not confident in their products.
Other than the warranty, the case, I find, is too bulky for smooth use of the Iphone; the sides of the case do not allow for smooth swiping, for example, the edit "bubble", to edit the beginning or end of a sentence, the case sides prevent you from easily reaching the side
It would also be nice to have a wider choice of colours for the rubber part of the case I have.
On the plus size of the OtterBox case, it does protect the phone better than not having a case.

I bought Otter Boxes for myself and my daughter. My daughter dropped her phone. The corner of the Otter Box chipped but the phone was fine. Otter Box replaced the cover and we are both happy!
