There are many great thing about this case, but unfortunately I'm on my third one since I bought it a year ago because pieces of the plastic case break off.
The good news is that it was still under warranty, so Otterbox sent me new ones, but after this third one starts to break I'm on my own!
This case absolutely protects my phone. Through every drop, tumble, and fall, my phone has survived without a scratch. My best story is that my phone fell into a dog bowl of water and, perhaps due to my cat-like reflexes, or the great protection of the Otterbox, my phone had NO damage! Pretty awesome.
It's hard to say if I would recommend this to a friend because the case is phenomenal when it comes to protection, but drives me a bit nuts that the plastic breaks so often.
Pros: High quality, great protection
Cons: Not durable

Case is insanely great. Dropped my phone a few times now and the case and phone are still 100% perfect. The only thing wrong is its a bit hard to put on but its well worth it. Once you have a few more try's at it you start get the hang of it and it only takes maybe a minute now to get it looking perfect. It's also very easy to take off. I have had no problems with this case at all and already recommend it to my friends.
Pros: High quality, Durable, doesn't look ugly

I just got my first iphone after breaking my HTC. I had a very bad case on that phone, and it cracked very badly about 3 times. It lasted about a year, and I decided to get an iphone based on its usually longer lifespan. I did my research for the best case (an iphone is too expensive to get a cheap case...) and decided to get otterbox since my dad has one and likes it.
So far, I dropped it once from a table and it held perfectly! We'll see in the long run, but it seems very sturdy! I also find it is very easy to clean, remove, and hold with the case on. I will never get another case!
I got the teal colour at the Bell store and it is paler than in the image--I like it better than what the image shows.

I got this case because I needed protection for a phone I knew I'd drop a few times, but something slimline enough to slide in and out of my clutch easily.
I have dropped the phone a few times in this case now. One time, I dropped it so badly it cracked the outer shell. Happily, my phone was perfectly fine. I didn't mind the crack much, until I dropped it again and broke off a section of the outer case (phone still in pristine condition). Otterbox win! So that shows you that the case does its job and protects your phone well.
However, what really impressed me was the customer service. Since this happened within the 1-yr warranty, I went on the website and sent them two photos of the cracked case (the website was very user-friendly and had VERY simple and clear directions) and within a week, I had a new hard outer shell to replace my cracked one. No questions asked, no phone calls needed-- just a simple submission of two photos online. Otterbox customer service win!
A little while later, I noticed that my inner silicon layer was not fitting snugly within the hard outer shell. My phone was still protected, but it didn't feel sleek and snug. So I went back on the website and sent in two pictures of the silicon outer shell poking awkwardly out of the shell. Within a week, they sent me a brand new commuter case set-- both the inner and outer layers! Now everything is snug and fit, and I have a clumsy (but acceptable) backup set in case anything happens after the warranty is over. The process to get replacements couldn't be easier. I wish every company had such simple, streamlined, and responsive customer service!

I was sorry I bought the Otter box=mine had two pieces break off of it. My son & husband also bought Otter boxes & both also had pieces break off of theirs. We all had out Otter boxes replaced free of charge. But still I wish I had not chosen Otter. I do not consider myself, a 66 yr old woman, to be rough on my phone, but it still broke. I wish I had chosen a different case to protect my phone.

I have had my iPhone for a year and a half and my yellow/gray otter box cover has had to be replaced 3 times. At least once, I waited until it was practically broken to pieces before replacing it. I have friends with other colors and they don't seem to break as easily. At least 3 of my friends have had similar problems with this color and had theirs replaced multiple times.
Cons: Not durable
