Not what I thought...

I was really excited to get an Otterbox Commuter case for my new iPhone 4s, but found myself disappointed when I opened the package and then installed it.
First of all, I had ordered the envy green/gunmetal color. Unfortunately, the green part doesn't look like the color shown on the website which I would describe as dark or forest green. Instead, the green is a much lighter, uglier color (think the avocado green of your grandma's old dishwasher from the 70's). I also found that the gunmetal grey was a slightly lighter color than the picture, but not bad overall.
Secondly, the power button is very difficult to push with the case installed. What was a very easy push with no case, now probably would require two hands.
Finally, I had the same issues as others have described with the door to the AC connector. It doesn't close uniformly.
Unfortunately, I will be returning. I'll either wait till they make further improvements and/or will wait till I can find one at a local retailer, so that I can make sure I'm getting a color I like. On a more positive note, we ordered the Defender (pink/gunmetal color) for my wife. That one looks and works great.
Pros: Durable
Cons: color not as advertised, power button difficult to push
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the perfect case for us who want the protection otterbox has to offer but doesnt want the bulk of the defender series. The biggest selling point was it provided great protection without adding much bulk and slips in and out of pocket easily. I love this case. However mine has a slight manufacturing defect where the flap to cover sync/charge cable does not stay locked in on one side only, It is annoying for no reason but my own but still a defect none the less. I dont know if it was my batch or just my case. I do not know why everybody has this case though it rocks!
Pros: Durable
Cons: slight manufacturing defect

Love this case, but...

I absolutely love this case. It fits over my iPhone 4S perfectly (everything lines up just fine, not sure what the other reviews are about in regards to that). It's also great for protection (Otter Box: 1, Ground: 0).
The only problem I have with it is I bought the purple and white combo and I find myself constantly cleaning the white portion because it gets dirty sooooo easily and looks grimy/dirty. I should have gone with one of the other color options in this respect.
Pros: High quality, Durable
Cons: tough to keep white!

Phone fits in pants pocket nicely. There's enough silicone exposed to give a good grip in your hand, but not so much that it sticks in jeans pocket.
Screen protector seems good, all edges are covered by the case that wraps around the front, and front is raised enough to place face down on a table.
Only complaint so far is that the buttons (volume and on/off) are a little hard to push. Other than that I love it.

Not same color as picture

I have a couple of otterbox defender cases and I have always liked them. However, I just ordered the Teal Commuter series for my iphone4 and the color is nothing like the picture. The light teal is really just light blue. It also looks like cheaper quality than my defender cases. On the upside it is small and sleek. Looks like good protection.
Pros: sleek and small
Cons: Low quality, color doesn't match picture

I love this case. My boyfriend has the defender and I do not like how bulky it is, but I wanted some protection. I had the commuter for my 3GS and I love that the 4S model hugs the phone on the sides. The 3GS was really thin on the sides and lifted up easily so dust would get under there. My only complaints for this phone case are that the button on top to turn off the screen is hard to push and the port covers do not fit snug into the holes like the 3GS model. These things are minor though. I would not have any other brand.
Pros: High quality, Durable, great colors!
