great protection, but a few flaws...

Overall, I like this cover. It provides great protection and is very durable, and for some reason I find the purple color very pleasing. But there are a few things I do not like. I have a white iphone, so I got this case with the white inner shell. As a female, I have come to not like this white shell due to the front edges becoming discolored from touching my face. I don't wear a ton of make up, but the front edges of the shell are now tinted pink from touching the side of my face during use. Also, while I understand the need for the flap covers for all the input jacks, the bottom flap over the charger jack makes it really hard to charge my phone on our home stereo/docking station, or anything that you slip your phone into to charge. And lastly, It might just be my case, since it doesn't look like my husband's does this, but I can't quite get my inner and outer shell to line up just right. The hard outer shell kind of sticks out on the corners. I haven't had any problems with the poking out corners snagging anything, but the look of it irks me a bit... especially since I paid quite a bit for the case. Just a few things to think about.
Pros: Durable, good protection
Cons: white shell is easily discolored

Awesome protection, poor design

Being a klutz, I often drop my phone and this case protects it which is awesome. However, I use my phone on an iHome and the case has to be taken off to fit into the cradle properly. The case has never been easy to get back on after taking it off. The hard plastic side pieces don't fit properly.
Pros: Durable
Cons: design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Otterbox Commuter Series Case for iPhone 4S

I've had my iPhone 4S Otterbox'd since I purchased it. If it weren't for the case I probably would have been through five iPhones by now. This thing is super rugged and has protected my phone during dozens of drops ranging anywhere from off the side of my bed to down a flight of stairs. It will definitely add a little bulk to the phone but I can deal, and you should, too, if you want to keep your expensive smart phone in good working order. I will say that after about a year and who knows how many drops I replaced the Otterbox with a new one. The corners had taken too many hits and the plastic had chipped away in places.
Bottom line: I definitely recommend this and any other Otterbox products.
Pros: High quality, Durable, reasonably priced

Good Warranty.. Bad Deal twice

Second case going on third for the Commuter Series. First and second outer case shell broke or cracked. My current case while I awake my warranty case to come in the mail, the inside rubber case is too big for the smaller outer shell. I'm not pleased and not sure I will want to pay money for another Otter Box.
Cons: Low quality, Not durable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I chose this case based on a recommendation from a friend, based on my requirements of the case being sturdy and sleek at the same time. What I really wanted was a case that came with a built-in screen protector, because I had something like that on my 3g and it lasted the entire 3 years I had it until I recently replaced it with the new 4s. This case does NOT have a built-in screen protector, but does come with one of those annoying screen films. If you're someone who doesn't mind those, good for you. I personally can NEVER seem to get them on perfectly without any bubbles. There is also something to be said for the fact that they even bother including one for you - most if not ALL other cases (by other manufacturers) are just the back, which is pointless when the screen is the important part of the phone. **If you want a built-in, and don't mind the bulk, the Defender series is for you. I know several people with this one, and it is definitely bulky, but does exactly what it claims to do.
In terms of sleekness - this case is only sleek for an Otterbox. It's not by any means "sleek" as compared to some other cases, but again, you'd be sacrificing durability, protection, and quality by purchasing one of those.
One complaint I have - which is minor - is that the rubber protector piece that covers the AC plug hole - which looks like it's supposed to accessible without having to lift the flap - doesn't line up properly. You have to lift the flap anyway because of this, which, to me, makes it pointless to even have a hole in it if you're just going to have to lift it regardless. Work on fixing that, and this is a pretty great case.

Cons: ac jack flap doesn't line up

Disappointed with Case Color

I ordered the Teal Commuter case based upon the color displayed on the Otterbox website. When the case actually arrived, the silicon is not as green as represented. The case is actually Teal with light blue silicon. I'm not a fan of the color combination. If I knew it was Teal and light blue, I wouldn't have ordered this color. Also, it took 1 1/2 weeks to receive my case. The expected delivery date changed 3 times.

Not Quite The Case That The 3GS Case Was

I loved my 3GS commuter case, and for some reason, the 4S outer shell seems flimsier and the rubber inner shell plug covers don't close as well and are harder to access.
Non-standard charge plugs (larger plugs) won't fit with this case either, so stick to OEM or similar sized charge plugs.
I bought the yellow and have had it less than a week. I keep it in my pocket, and apparently some color from my pant lining has stained the yellow grommet and I can't get it off. It looks horrible. I have faith in the protective quality, so I'm just going to suck it up and buy the black one.
Pros: High quality, Durable
Cons: white/yellow silicone stain easily

Good not great

Envy green is an ugly color. Protection seems very nice. Silicon and hard plastic don't fit together flawlessly. Face shield holds fingers prints. Hurts the ear to talk on. Overall I am going to buy a different color when something better comes out, but probably the same commuter style. Hopefully they will have perfected the manufacturing process by then.

Cons: uncomfortable
