This case saved my phone from an SUV...

I left my iPhone 4 on top of my car after practice and then went to run some errands. On the highway going 70 mph, I saw it fly off the back of my car and bounce into the distance. After coming to terms with the fact that I may never see it again, I turned around and went back for it. Upon pulling over, I could see it lying face down in the middle of the second lane. While waiting for a safe chance to run and grab it, an SUV drove right over it. When I finally got my hands on it, I saw the extent of the damage. The front screen was completely shattered... but it still worked! I called my dad from it and everything else seemed to be in working order. The case was still in tact, only slightly compressed. I called my iPhone repair guys and they said it'll need a new screen and that's it. Thank you Otter Box.
Pros: High quality, Durable, indestructible

So dirty

I had it for a day and it already had makeup stand on he white parts if it. I tried water,makeup remover, and ern bleach and that hardly help. It does protect very well.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Low quality

Breaks easily

I've gone through 3 of these in a year. Fortunately Otter Box's outstanding costumer support sent me a another one free every time. I love the way it looks but it has structural flaws. In many places such as the bottom, the plastic has less support. Two cases broke near the microphone and the dock connector. One case sheared completely in two at the window for the apple logo. My iPhone has been through a few drops and skiing accidents but thanks to this case there is not a scratch on my iPhone
Pros: looks great, feels nice in hand
Cons: Not durable, breaks easily in the cold
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

great case

i loved this sleek little case. dropped my iphone quite a few times and it took it like a champ! it did crack in a couple of places but it had a rough life. i finally did it in 2 days a go but accidentally running it over with an 18 ton bulldozer. the case is no more good but the phone is still going strong. just ordered a defender case.
Pros: Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

the commuter series is a good case. I'm pretty rough on phones and the top plastic piece on mine got a crack about 3 weeks after i had it. i don't think it was caused from a drop but maybe putting the case back on when i charged it. which is a downside because if its not an apple charger it comes with you do have to take the case off to fit some chargers. but i called otter box when this happened just to see what they would do and to my surprise 30 seconds after the beginning of the phone call the man said okay we will send you anther one. no money needed. they already had my name in there system. so its good service and my phones still in one piece. but it did crack. i like the case though it makes the phone look better and protects it without being bulky or having trouble taking it in or out of your pockets.
Pros: looks good, somewhat protective
Cons: plastic piece

Let me begin by saying that Otterbox has great customer service. They have been nothing but helpful, which I really appreciate. I do not appreciate, however, that I have now had 3 of these cases break in the exact same spot. The plastic cracks right by the port for the charger, which must mean this is a spot of weakness in this case. Each time Otterbox has replaced it quickly, but 3 strikes and you're out in my mind. I own the Viola, and have to say that the white silicone part does get dirty really fast and is impossible to clean. I am going to give the Defender series a try, but will stay away from anything with white on it!
Pros: great customer service!!
Cons: Low quality, Not durable, gets dirty easily

While known for great cases, This case for Iphone4 does not fit correctly. I cant be the first customer with this complaint,yet they keep selling this case. It is too small and the sides wont clip one the phone. Time to fix this problem and stop selling this case. I was hoping for a great case,but instead had to return it.On any of the big retailer reviews on the product, the same problems are listed.

I had purchased a cheaper case when I got my new phone. I decided to try the OtterBox and am thrilled. Easy to handle and I don't have to flip a cover to see messages or take pictures.
