My daughter's 'Commuter' plastic case began to break about 6 months after purchase. Otter Box replaced it without question. Then, 9 months after that, the replacement began to break apart. Otter Box replaced the replacement.
Unfortunately my case started to break near the charging cutout about 4 months after I got it. I don't think I am particularly hard on my electronics so I was surprised that this area was so fragile. It took me a few months until I looked at what the warranty was. Now I have a new case. Otterbox is a great company. They stand behind their products - no questions asked. When I replaced the case I realized just how dirty the white part was. Yuck - I got this case because of the purple. Maybe Otterbox should use light and dark purple in the future because white is NOT a color that should be on a phone case. I did drop the phone once and there was no damage to the phone thanks to my Otterbox!
Pros: pretty color purple, reliable company, protected my iphone
I just received a replacement case aprox. a week ago because my old case broke, after two days I dropped my phone and the back glass of my Iphone 4S shattered.
I've had an Otterbox case for my iPhone for 15 months now and my phone still looks just as pristine as it did the day I bought it. The case has cracked twice due to my constant clumsiness and each time, Otterbox sent me a NEW case for FREE. This is the best part.
Overall I'm happy with my Commuter Series Case. It didn't last quite as long as I had expected but Otter Box was quick to replace it under warranty when it failed.
I'm not particularly clumsy or rough on my phone but it did get dropped on occasion, and after about a year the only damage was to the case, the phone is still in great condition inside. That's why I bought it and it's doing the job well.
I purchased my iPhone 4S outright on its release date on 14th October 2011. Having spent so much money on a phone I wanted the best protection possible. This surely was the right case for me. All my future phones will be protected by OtterBox.
