I really like the look of the case and I believe that it really protects my phone; however the hard plastic case is a bit too tight as it broke within weeks of receiving my case :(

One of the best things I've bought. Had 2 problems with the case and each time I was sent a new one within days. Excellent customer service. I have dropped my phone several times and it has protected it each time. Worth every penny.

This is my second defender from otter box. The first one I had for a year and didn't hold up very well. This replacement seems to be made out of a different material then the first. The quality of the product has improved. Very happy with the product and otter box in general.

this is my 2nd Otter Box Commuter series and it is a replacement product (as the first one failed as well). i really am gentle with this i-phone 4. The hard plastic on my new Otter Box cracked at the charging port area and today by the on/off switch.

The Commuter Series case I purchased for my 4S has performed very well for me. I liked the color choices and the ease of installation. I think it offers very good protection, and my phone has survived some bumps and bruises due to the Otter Box. The only irritation of its design is the inability to dock the phone while it is in the case. It is very easy to remove the phone from the case and put it back on. However, I worry that repeated removals and installations of the case will cause the rubber to stretch out of shape. I've seen this on other models. This is not a big enough problem to turn me off of the product, but it does seem to be a perpetual design choice. Otter Box offered a different case that I luh-huh-huved, but it is no longer available. This other case was split in half so that the bottom could be slid off very easily to allow for docking. Otter Box, why did you discontinue that one?
Pros: High quality, Durable, color choices, easy installation, light weight and less bulk
Cons: cannot dock phone without removing case
