Commuter Series is Perfect!

This case is great for a number of reasons.
The camera port on the back is large and guaranteed to not effect photo quality. There are a ton of cases on the internet that cut the camera and flash ports to close and you can end up with glare in you images.
I also wanted silicone for the bumper effect it has but didn't want a case made totally out of silicone that would pick up lint and stick when i took it out of my pocket. They solved this by putting a hard, thin, outer shell over the majority of the silicone bumper.
My final stipulation in a case that otterbox met with the commuter was that the case had to have a rim that was raised around the front of the phone so i could set the phone on its face and not have to worry about it being scratched.

This case is great. It takes a little work to get the plastic shell on correctly but once you get it it is perfect.

Great product but.....

So after buying about 7 different cases for my iPhone 4s and not liking any of them I decided to give otterbox a try. Overall I'm very pleased with this product but it does take some fenagling to get it in the hard shell and make the silicone part fit the way it's supposed to. After about 15 minutes of playing with it I finally got it to fit perfectly.
Pros: High quality, Durable, sleek looking, not bulky
Cons: silicone case sometimes loose

Beyond expectations

I read the reviews, liked some and became skeptical on a few. But, I love this case! Feels good in the hands, isn't bulky, I really like the hard shell and rubber shell without it your iPhone will get scratched from the hard plastic rubbing the back of the phone. I have no complaints and that's coming from a very picky person. One thing and only thing, be careful putting on the plastic front sheet thingy. Make sure your screens is super clean. A good placement and careful technique might make or break your satisfaction.
I would recommend this to a friend!

case cracked in my pocket

I had this case about a month before it started falling apart. The hard plastic cracked in several places and pieces have been falling off. I haven't dropped it and it spends most of its time in my pocket. I'll return it as soon as I get the chance.
Cons: Low quality, Not durable

Major drop off in quality

First let me say I had an otterbox commuter case for my old 3GS iPhone and it was well made, protective, durable and comfortable to handle. When I purchased an iPhone 4S, there was no question which case I was going to buy, I didn't even shop around another otterbox commuter case will be a safe bet. I was way wrong. I'm not sure if otterbox has switched suppliers or it's just a bad design but the quality of this case doesn't even come close to the case I had for my 3GS. It's protective sure, but the plastic portion of the case does not fit well over the rubber. Sharp edges are exposed all over the phone. It is incredibly uncomfortable to use and handle and quite frankly I'm surprised I haven't been cut by it. Very dissapointing and looks like this one is going into the garbage bin.
Pros: protective
Cons: Low quality, sharp edges, poor fit, uncomfortable, cheap feel, poor workmanship
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible Quality!!!!

Quality is very poor on the silicone, had case 3 weeks now & already it is wearing down and tearing in spots. I'm very very disappointed.
I had the otterbox defender for the iPhone 3GS for over 2 years had no problems, I LOVED it! So when I upgraded to iPhone 4S I bought the new otterbox to go with it.
I don't do anything different with it than I did with the 3GS box but it is already wearing and tearing. I attached a photo so you can see where it's tearing, it's also wearing along edges and on the home button.

Don't buy the white silicone!--Ended up with teal

I originally got the white/viola combination and was SO EXCITED because I knew it would look sleek with a white iPhone. I had it for all of 4 hours and the case was extremely dirty. Like the other review says, soap and water does not work. I called and asked for help with the situation and the replaced it with darker silicone for free. The teal is just as cute with the white iPhone and it doesn't show dirt easily. I am SO happy with it now!

Cons: white is impossible to clean

Design Flaw

i love this case like crazy... ive dropped it from about 6 feet onto concrete and it bounced and slid face down and it just had a little tiny dent in the case... i was super impressed with it... the only bad thing ive found with this case is the headphone jack... i have yet to find an auxillary cable that fits in between the plastic that the case to completely plug into the jack... ive emailed otterbox and never received a reply...

Cons: headphone jack opening is to small
