This case I have has taken a beating. The area around the connector opening is weak. It was the first broken area on my case. The good news though is that my phone is still ticking along just fine !

Overall I am not happy with the case. The negatives are I ordered the white rubberized cover. It is now very dirty after about 2 weeks. I only carry my phone in my pocket book, and pretty surprised at how dirty it got in short period of time. On the other hand I ordered the white for my daughter who carries her phone in her pockets. Hers is filthy, looks dirty blue from blue jeans dye rubbing off on it. The outside covers are very smooth, making them slippery. I've dropped my phone more times in the last 2 weeks than I have for the year 1 1/2 years I've owned the phone prior. Last cover had a rubberized finish. Pros. The phone withstood all the drops, no breakage. Had I dropped it with last cover that many times it would have broke, but slippery finish makes it more likely to be dropped.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love my otter box case. I love the protection it offers and the colors it comes in. My only complaint would be that I have noticed the side with the volume buttons tends to pull out and stretch, creating a sort of gap between the rubber of the case and the phone. Overall, I would defiantly recommend this case!

I have the Otterbox commuter series. It has protected my phone from a couple of drops to the ground! I noticed a tiny crack about 8 months after I had purchased it. Otterbox customer service was fantastic! I just followed the detailed instructions online and I had my replacement within a week!
The ONLY con I could list would be that the white portion of the case is very difficult to keep white and it is not easily cleaned. I should have requested a different colour when they replaced it. They were just so quick sending it out! Hard to complain about that! ;) Worthwhile purchase and great customer service!

I just received my third otterbox due to the plastic breaking. The ends seem to be weak and they eventually break. I love that otterbox honors their warranty and replaces them, but this is my third one, so it's annoying. My phone has been accidentally dropped more times than I could count, and it's held up with my otterbox until it finally shattered the other day. So, it's definitely held up and protected my phone A LOT. Of course it's just plastic and rubber, so it isn't full proof. :-)

I recently got the Viola/White Otterbox Commuter Case for my iPhone 4s. I drop my phone frequently, on cement, bricks, pavement and I find the Otterbox case is the best case I've ever had. It is very durable; my phone hasn't had a single scratch on its since I've been using Otterbox, which is about 2 years now. Plus, the colors make the phone visually appealing which is amazing added to the good protection. I would highly recommend this case!
