I spent quite a long time deciding upon this food processor. I need a model with a powerful motor, great blade and sturdy construction. Features were secondary considerations for me, but I have been pleasantly surprised by the additional small bowl, adjustable feeding tube and both slicing, shredding blades. Based upon my review of reviews - especially the recommendation from America's Test Kitchen - I had settled on the Cuisineart 14-cup unit, but had held up because of the price. I was able to find this 12-cup unit (had been happy with my old 10-cup size, so slightly smaller capacity was not an issue) at a better price; and I also noticed that this this 12-cup unit actually had a 1,000-watt motor while the larger 14-cup unit motor was only 750-watt.
There is a lot to consider when selecting a food processor. Frankly, I am wary of the Cuisineart brand across its range of products, so the name alone is not enough for me to choose this product. I invested time, and know that this is the right processor for me. You should do the same.

The model is fast and capacity is adequate, but has only two speed controls: "ON" and "PULSE". A design flaw is that it does not have a variable speed control, nor severable speed control level buttons.

This is our third Cuisinart food processor which we had to buy because it did not seem possible to buy replacement parts. I guess we are expected to throw it away and buy another one.
This machine is definitely more powerful than the others and makes surprisingly fast work of what used to take a more determined effort. It is also quieter. But like the others, it is a pain to clean the blade and cover. The bowl is sturdier than those of the previous models we owned.
Also, to carp a bit more, the shaft of the blade is long and some of what is being processed ends up in the blade shaft.
Overall, we are satisfied and happy with the new processor.
I would say to Cuisinart in general that we are disappointed when they cheapen products to lower their prices. We first turned to Cuisinart for quality and are still willing to pay more for it. But the expectation of quality no longer holds and when we shop we are more inclined to look at other manufacturers like Breville.
