[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the ink cartridge about two months ago, to replace an existing cartridge. I have used it quite a bit since then, and I have no complaints. I have not experienced blotting, smearing, or fading even though my volume of printing has increased since I began taking a postgraduate course online. It's not glamorous, but it works.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the HP6068 printer because we were told it is not an ink eater. Two people in the home, no business, just about 10 copies a day which translates to 300 per month. The info says the HP 906 XL should run 1500 copies or about 5 months. This cartridge has never lasted over 3 months. I don't know if it is the printer, the cartridge or the combination but it is a big disappointment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there,
I am sorry that you didn't get more pages from the cartridge. The estimates of pages printed are based on industry-wide standards. How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your own usage and environmental factors.
When your prints are high-density (such as images and graphs), they will use more ink, especially if the paper is very absorbent and the air is dry.
Here are some things that might help you out:
- Black is used a lot in almost every printout, so use the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out both black and colored ink
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.
- Instant Ink lets you pay by the page. Check out the details at the HP Instant Ink site.
