I hate the fact that we are hostage to HP for extremely high priced replacement printer cartridges and do not have the option to buy third party provided products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ink cartridge leaked.

Poor quality. Went to install The cartridge in the printer and the minute I removed the plastic strip, ink started gushing out of the top. This is the second time it has happened to me. Now I have to pack it up to return it.

Hello,

I am sorry that you encountered this problem with the cartridge. I am very sorry to hear about this.

This type of cartridge must be carefully unwrapped. While leaking is more common with refills, it can also happen with a damaged or defective cartridge.

A vent near the cartridge label will normally be opened when the tab is pulled completely loose. That vent needs to be open wide enough to prevent the cartridge from leaking when you twist off the orange tab prior to installing the cartridge. On defective and remanufactured cartridges, you might have to clear the vent with a straight pin to keep it from leaking.

I will notify some of the support staff about this and see if they can contact you about this.

Well worth the cost. Allows for many more black only printing without changing cartridges.

When I pulled the tab to take off the plastic wrapper ink oozed out of the cartridge and made a huge mess. On my desk, laptop and all over my hands.

Hello,

I am terribly sorry you had this problem. I can understand if you are disappointed. You must carefully unwrap this type of cartridge. While leaking is more common with refills, it can also happen with a damaged or defective cartridge.

A vent near the cartridge label will normally be opened when the tab is pulled completely loose, and the outer plastic covering is removed from around the cartridge. That vent needs to be open to prevent the cartridge from leaking when you twist off the orange tab prior to installing the cartridge. On defective cartridges, you might have to clear the vent with a straight pin to keep it from leaking.

Please consider contacting us. Step-by-step instructions for completing the return and exchange process is covered at: store.hp.com/us/en/cv/returnsandexchanges
