Have purchased it as well as similar lesser-priced products and it is much better (much more reliable and longer lasting. In the long -run, it is a better buy for the money.
It never even made it to the printer. I pulled the little orange tab that says, "PULL" ( it takes the plastic wrapping off)..I had black ink all over! It spewed all over..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Cara,
I am very sorry that you didn't have a good experience with the cartridge. I can understand if you are upset.
A vent will normally be opened when the pull tab for the outer plastic covering is completely removed. Sometimes it takes a bit of a tug. That vent needs to be open to prevent the cartridge from leaking.
I'm assuming that you've already contacted us about this. However, if it appears that poor performance is due to a defect, you can return if. The return and exchange process is covered, step-by-step, at: store.hp.com/us/en/cv/returnsandexchanges
Terrible experience. Started leaking as soon as I opened the packaging. Well I figured that that was a one-off so ordered another, and it also leaked, and ruined a pair of shoes. Maybe this review will get their attention so they can fix an obviously manufacturing defect.

Hi Ron,
That sounds very frustrating. I am sorry that you went through all that!
While leaking is more common with refills, it can also result from a damaged or defective cartridge. A vent by the cartridge label will normally be opened when the tab for the plastic wrap is pulled completely loose, and the outer plastic covering is removed from the cartridge. That vent needs to be open to prevent the cartridge from leaking when you remove the orange tab prior to installing the cartridge.
While I cannot speak to whether it was a one-off or not, we get a very small percentage of this happening with genuine, original cartridges. However, it might be a good idea to examine the vent to ensure it is opened before continuing on to remove the orange tab prior to installing the cartridge.
