Presently, I am self isolated due to the Corona-virus and appreciate even more, the HP customer service I received when I called to place my order. She was friendly, knowledgeable and proficient. I am sorry that you are disappointed with the page yield of the cartridge. The estimates of pages printed are based on industry standards. How the cartridge will perform in your own printer will vary according to usage.
Unless a cartridge was damaged or defective, the ink usage determines how long it will last. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
- Use the printer's draft mode and black-only setting whenever possible
- Shut the printer down between uses; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets it ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- Consider getting Instant Ink. The subscription plans are based on how many pages you print. You can check out the details at: HPinstantink.com
