Great for Road Trips!

My sons are six and eight and they had the opportunity to try out the LeapStart free of charge to facilitate this review all opinions are my own. I was excited as my boys are both learning to read more and more every day. The LeapStart allows them to have fun while learning. They received several books to go with their LeapStart as well. Their favorite was the Super Hero Vocabulary book. I loved that it was hip and cool to the kids so they really didn't even realize how much they were learning. My boys play their LeapStart in the car now instead of games on their tablets. That is a big win for mom!

They love it, but . . . .

This product does all that is advertised. My girls' ages 2-6 spend lots of time playing and learning with this. I love that isn't a screen!!! HOWEVER, this product goes through batteries. In a time where rechargeable batteries are readily available this is a HUGE disappointment. Not only does this use batteries like a toddler eating goldfish you have to use a screwdriver to change the batteries!!! AHHH - as great as this product is and truly educational this lack of function is a big deal. Byer beware.

Neat product concept but poor quality

I bought this for my son before Christmas and bought all the accompany books. I gifted it to him and it died before January was out. He is home schooled so we used this in a curriculum fashion and he never played with it alone. It quit working not because of rough toddler handling but because it was very poorly made. When I went to return it to the store I was advised to get my money back rather than exchange it because "they all come back". Very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
