The coffee machine is garbage-I bought it 3 months ago & it died on friday 3/4- will never buy Black and Decker small appliance again.
I have a 20 yr old toaster oven & a 25 yr old Steam iron & Food processor that are great but they are over 20 yrs old all 3 are Black and Decker. And I cant find a coffee maker to last more that 3 months. What happened to the good products of old?

Great Product

Makes a great pot of coffee and very easy to take the carafe in and out without dripping all over the heating plate. Very easy to program and cleanup is a breeze. And easy removal of the filter with no harsh steam blowing in your face...all in all I love this machine
I would recommend this to a friend!

This coffee maker would be great if it didn't leak water/coffee all over when you go to pour it. It never fails, no matter how fast or how slow you pour, you always end up with water/coffee drizzling down the side of the carafe onto the countertop. Other than that it is a great coffeemaker for the price!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Coffee maker great -workmanship debatable

The handle on this coffee pot pulled out from the bottom and fell off when my wife picked it up. It appears that the band that goes around the bottom of the pot terminates under the bottom of the handle. There is a self tapping screw sticking out behind the handle which is not accessible from the outside that goes into a plastic piece under the metal band. Since this screw is not accessible from the outside of the handle, and therefore tamper resistant, I do not understand how it could pull out if properly constructed.

Nothing but trouble

I have had two of these within a year and both of them have had problems. The first one just quit working and the second one I found it shutting on and off by itself. This could have caused a fire. I was told at the store where I purchased it that it was out of warrenty. I have never had to buy that many coffee makers in such a short period of time as I have with this one. If you purchase one just make sure that you watch it and dont leave home with it on because the 2 hour timer might not shut off and burn your home down.

I would normally buy a Mr. Coffee Maker, but the price was lower on this brand so I said what the heck Black & Decker has a good reputation, I will give it a try. Well I made a pot of coffee and it was so hot and steamy that I thought this is just want I want and I will tell all my friends and family who always put their freshley brewed coffee in the microwave to make it hotter. But not with Black & Decker no microwave needed.

I bought the coffee pot before Christmas. It looks like this one only black. You can not put water in the back without spilling water everywhere and the same way with pouring coffee, the carafe leaks water everywhere! My son came up to visit and said, "I just bought the same coffee pot, does your carafe leak everywhere when you pour water and coffee!" Yes!!! The number on mine was CM1010B.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
