This product needs help

It has this little flap between the top lid and the where water comes out into the coffee area . The flap comes up and hot water spills over the cover and onto the counter, hence making a mess to wipe up. I've snapped the flap several times and yet somehow it pops back up. Flap should be a fixed flap.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent machine for a decent price !

Replaced a Proctor-Silex unit that was easily 10 years old. This B-D unit is just swell, works super good, love the pre-set for next morning feature, it looks pretty good on the kitchen counter top, kind of wish the " 2 hour shut off " function could be disabled though. In synopsis > > > It makes coffee reliably that tastes good !

Tired of buying coffee makers every 5-6 month's

I've owned this coffee maker for about 6 month's now and it no longer works. First the coffee would brew but then the hot plate was cold. I had to heat my coffee in the microwave. Now it doesn't work at all. I perform regular cleanings on it and once again, another coffee maker bit the dust. I went from a Mr. Coffee to this all for nothing.......
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not a very good coffee maker

I recieved this coffee maker for Christmas and have made quite a few pots of coffee since. Every time I pour anything out of the carafe, it dribbles down the front onto the floor or counter. I try to either pour faster or slower, but nothing seems to work. The carafe spout is designed very poorly. this coffeemaker makes a mess every time I make coffee.

Good solidly designed product

My wife and I were looking for a no-frills replacement for our Mr. Coffee coffee machine. We selected the Black and Decker for its price, but we are delighted with its performance. It's fast, the coffee tastes fine and the carafe doesn't dribble when you pour (unlike Mr. Coffee's carafe). Two thumbs up so far.

I purchased this product about 8 months ago and still have not found a way to pour coffee from the carafe without a lot spilling down the side of the carafe and onto the surface below. The design of the spout is terrible. I know others who own Black and Decker coffee makers and complain about the same problem.

Always buy B&D, but won't again. Steam gathers in top; when you lift top to take used filter/coffee out, all water runs to back of lid/top and onto the counter behind the maker. Big mess to clean up. Must pull coffee maker away from wall. When close lid down after this, rest of water flips out onto the counter on sides & front of maker, causing another mess. Basket also doesn't sit down easily; it is easy to get it off balance a bit so when you pull the maker out before it is finished, the coffee making doesn't cease while you pour a cup early. Another bigger mess! Programming is fine on this unit. Works fine. However, in our household we don't have time to constantly clean up messes around the unit. Also water runs under other things on counter and we have to move them to clean and dry. Poorly designed lid, not at all user friendly. We've always considered B&D to have good engineering; they missed it on this one. Wish we could take it back, but it's too late for that now & we no longer have the receipt. Took a few months for me to think of writing this.
