I had one of the early ones with the flat emitters and stainless grills. Clean-up is a pain but it cooks so great it is worth the effort. My emitters were about burned through and I got a refresh kit and the upgrade to the V shaped emitters and cast grills made a product I was already happy with even better. I live in Iowa and grill out year around so mine has endured many a difficult winter and it is still in decent shape. I am going to retire it this year and get a new one as I am relocating to the Gulf Coast, hopefully it will stand up to the salt air as well as it has our winters.
I love the grill and the small size, however, even with seasoning the infrared grates, I find that I am replacing them EVERY season. What else should I do other than season with canola oil to prevent sticking, rusting and overall deterioration. It is constantly covered and out of weather when not in use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

How are you normally cleaning your grill? We recommend a nylon brush and warm soapy water or biodegradable grill cleaner. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.
I have had my TRU-Infrared unit for 6 years and it is still going strong! I have never owned a grill that the igniters lasted more than a couple years! I replaced the stainless grills and pans last year and plan to get many more years of excellent bbq results from my unit! I always keep my grill covered with a CharBroil cover but use it year round...during sunny weather or rainy weather or winter snowstorms! (the Canadian way) If this grill ever wears out I will definitely replace it with the same model!
The tru-infared grill grates are absolutely impossible to keep clean. After each use of the grill I have to soak the grates in hot soapy water and use a wire brush to properly clean them. The grill is overpriced and under delivers.
Very unhappy with this purchases - I would not buy this grill. Go for a cheaper and simpler option.

We're sorry to hear of the issues encountered. We recommend a nylon brush and warm soapy water or biodegradable grill cleaner. Seasoning the grates with canola oil will also help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.
We have owned this particular grill 5 years now. I have cooked everything from burgers to brisket, chicken to venison. It does a great job once you learn how to use this particular grill. We average using it 3 to 4 times a week. The negatives for me are I have gone through 4 sets of diffuser plates and I just had to change out both burners. Cleaning every other use is almost mandatory. It is also real easy on the propane.
I do not like gas grills. I like this gas grill. I have never cooked chicken on a hot gas grill with not one flare up. I can now. Cooks even on every inch of cooking surface as I seared center cut pork to perfection right on the edge. Now for the super bowl test. Thick cut ribeye steaks tomorrow. I do not see any problems with flare up with this set up after cooking chicken as hot as I just did. Everything i read about this grill is as said. It cooks low and can sear meat on high with no fires.
I bougtht a TRU-Infrared™ 2 Burner Gas Grill a month ago. I was happy but it is very hard the moment of cleaning. It was more easy the cleaning when I had non infrated BBQ. Food gets stucked on it. I would like to chnge the grates for a convention ones
