I liked my first Infra Red alot more

We had to replace my original Infra Red because the pan rusted out out. I went to the new smaller unit because it is just my wife and I. Not happy with this grill at all. Does not have a pan over the burners to create "Infra-Red" heat. The grill surface itself is supposed to do this now, just like every other grill on the market. Temp at the grill surface is way too high, even on the lowest setting. It does not take long for the porcelain on the grill surface to burn/rust away. Too small to do any indirect cooking. Food sticks to the grill surface....especially fish and chicken. One person wrote it is because the meat has not caramelized, sounds like a company line to me, some foods you do not want cooked that high.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We value you as a Char-Broil customer and want you to enjoy using your grill. This Signature TRU-Infrared Grill uses infrared emitter trays instead of a trough, like our RED and Gourmet grills. To offset cook we recommend only using one burner. Have the cooking grates and emitters been seasoned? Seasoning with canola oil will help to keep food from sticking and prolong the lifetime of the parts. Give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 and we will be able to best assist.

Never BURN anything again!!!

Great grill. Never has a grill heated so quickly and cook so fast. The meats always turn out juicy and tender. It's almost impossible to burn anything as ther are no more flare-ups to worry about. Thanks for creating a great product.

This puppy can cook a steak like insane!

I'm quite happy with this grill as it really does cook steaks, burgers, practically anything you want. It changes the book on how to cook foods outdoors as I have many years cooking / smoking. My only disappointment is the life on the infrared pan. I like the design of it (the pan instead of the infrared plates) but when something is taking the DIRECT heat from the burners to convert the energy I want it to be a LOT more thicker/stronger to last longer. My stepfather has almost the same identical unit, so that speaks to how great this thing can cook. I have already recommended to other friends and will continue to do so.

I bought this grill about a year and half ago. It is the best grill I have ever owned. I used to overcook and burn stuff. It would come out dried and tough. Now I have to purposely do that, (not that I would). Now meats come out juicy. Biggest change was the chicken breasts. They are always perfect.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love this grill!

We bought this grill in 2011 and I have thoroughly enjoyed using it. No flare ups.
It does have some hot spots but ours is actually more towards the back of the grill. Not a problem, I rotate the meat anyway. The trays beneath the grates did rust-and finally rusted through this year. Since it is 5 years old I wasn't upset at that and purchased new ones with no problem. Every thing else is still in great condition. Most every time I use it I do burn off the grease and the scrape off the grates and trays-and spray with cooking spray. My only regret is that I didn't get the 3 burner.

This is my second infaread grill from char Broil. We down sized and could not be happier! It will sear meat or slow cook.

I do not like gas grills. I like this gas grill. I have never cooked chicken on a hot gas grill with not one flare up. I can now. Cooks even on every inch of cooking surface as I seared center cut pork to perfection right on the edge. Now for the super bowl test. Thick cut ribeye steaks tomorrow. I do not see any problems with flare up with this set up after cooking chicken as hot as I just did. Everything i read about this grill is as said. It cooks low and can sear meat on high with no fires.
I would recommend this to a friend!
