Will not last.

Bought one of these last December and towards the end of March the rotary fans shattered and went flying through the room. The product was replaced without too much hassle by Holmes/Jarden which was nice. It is now October and the unit sounds like a locomotive again - the fans are off balance yet again. I am waiting for the fans to break, and I will find out what the second warranty/replacement policy is.
A number of people seem to have this for years without problems, so perhaps I have bad luck. My inclination however is that this unit cannot handle the hardness of the water where I live and the mineral buildup is the culprit. And, since I cannot access or clean the fans the buildup is causing the eventual breakdown. However, we diligently use the water treatment with every tank refill, clean the unit as much as possible and replace the filters too no avail.
If your water is softer, this may be a great deal - it does work well when it works. If you have hard water or bad luck, this could be more work for four months than you want.

This is a really bad humidifier. Didn't even use it and it is almost too late to send it back. Plus I would have to pay full postage and insure it for it's full price.

We've had this humidifier for over a month and it has worked flawlessly. Easy to set up, easy to use, fairly quiet, filters the air going through the unit and refilling the unit's 2 water containers is simple to do. Well designed and puts plenty of humidity into the air to keep our place very comfortable during the dry cold winter months. We like it a lot.

Great when it's not leaking

Purchased this model a few years ago. It works well, when it works. Which for us was approximately one winter. Unit is highly prone to leaking.
