Extremely effective, but noisy

I bought this to replace a "cool mist" humidifier that was filling my house with white dust. Living in Arizona, I've owned many humidifiers over the years. This one is the most effective at quickly dumping large amounts of H20 into the air that I've ever used. However, it is so loud on all settings that it is essentially unusable unless qualify of life is of no value to you (or you have a way to banish it to a place where it doesn't bother you). I run it at night when my bedroom door is shut and when I leave the house.
As others have reported, it can leak water on the floor if the reservoirs are disturbed. Once you get the hang of how to handle them, this doesn't seem to be a problem.

Leak, defective plunger on one side.

bought it 2 weeks ago. Twice leak. isolated it to one tank. Need to replace plunger. Pain in the behind. Could be a better made product. Recommend...maybe if plunger can be fixed.

I really did buy this about a month ago. It works very well and the tanks are easy to fill. I got on the Holmes site and on sale. This is my second Holmes humidifier.

Bought 2 of these units and neither one would work in the automatic mode. They would only run when you are in run always mode. Customer service was very good and they are sending us two new units. Hopefully they work this time.

2000 sq ft capacity - I don't think so

My house is about 1700 sq ft. I have had this on full fan speed non stop for almost a week. The humidity level in the same room it stands doesn't go above 35%. The previous humidifier I had didn't need full speed to get to 40+%. Such a waste of money.
