Keeps freezing up

I have this product less than a year. It keeps freezing up, and the last 2 times I have had tried to play a movie, it freezes up at opening credits. I have had to unplug it for awhile so it can reset, and I can then open it to get movie out. Now, the screen is going blank and it is freezing up.

Junk

This DVD/blu-ray player is junk! Within the first 2 weeks of receiving it it would not turn on! I had to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to turn on. The sound is HORRIBLE! I have to have my tv volume extremely loud to hear what is playing. And the disk tray has to be pushed half way in for it to close. I hate it! I'm just glad I didn't purchase it, it was a gift.
Cons: all things listed above.

Works ok for the money

Get what you pay for I suppose. If you have a cable provider remote, it likely does not have codes that support this unit, so I am hugely disappointed in that. The fact that wireless networking requires an adapter is also a cheap "suprise". Works ok though, so far. I've only used it for one day. GET A WARRANTY (Extended) !
Pros: cheap
Cons: no common remote codes, requires an adapter for wireless, small and easily crushable by heavier devices
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just received this unit today, was professionally refurbished bye Philips.
It is a nicely designed unit, clean modern design not to big not to small. There are only two buttons on the unit so make sure you do not loose your remote(most now days are like this).
The remote I feel could be better, buttons feel very loose like it was not changed during the units refurbishment. More bad, it plays DVDs,blu Rays beautifully.
Netflix is hit and miss, the machine seems to slow down horribly at times . Some times it starts to load , then just hangs 90% loaded then goes back to the title page.It also does not play TV shows consecutively even though it's checked off on my N/F account. Some times it takes a while to shut down, a big black block appears light goes out them blu screen and 8-10 seconds later it's off finally .
Spent a hour on phone with a very nice Philips rep and after all the testing etc he decided it should be replaced. I asked if they could exchange for newer model if I pay the difference but he said they do not do that. So hopefully the other one they send me works better.
Pros: nicely made, good customer service
Cons: slow software, cheap remote
