stalls/hangs/requires power reset to clear hangs/stalls

Horrible HORRIBLE HOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRIBLE stablity issues.
WHAT on earth is so hard about making a unit that works???
I can't make it through 5 hrs of netflix without having to reset the unit.
DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK UNIT!
Pros: small size
Cons: stability issues, hangs frequently, requires power reset to clear hangs, wifi dongle not included
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great BR/DVD player for price!

I have 3 of the units.
The first one I purchase, I was dubious that such a small device could not only play BR/DVD but media files.
I was pleasantly surprised and how well it work, especially for the cost.
BR take a while to load, but I can look past that, considering all the Java going on behind the scene.
DVD work great, and the up-scaling makes a DVD look fantastic even on a 60inch TV screen.
As for media file support, I love this. I've converted my children (seemingly) 100's of DVD to DiVX, put them on a USB hard-drive. No more scratch, lost or swapping out discs. The menu is basic, and I wish there were more characters displayed.

Good Product...

Philips is my second choice in electronics. However my main TV and BluRay/DVD Player and most other AV Devices I own are Philips. This Player works great and has great built in options, it connects seamlessly to the TV and the Network. It has usable USB Ports and the simple Single HDMI Connection makes it easy to use on the entertainment system. I DONT LIKE. It only has 2 buttons on the actual device. Unless I have the remote, You cant do anything except turn the power on and eject the tray. If you lose your remote You Will Need to find/buy a new one otherwise you will have No control over the device.
Pros: great picture, great ease of use, lots of extra options
Cons: needs button controls on the unit, could use more outputs

Great idea but...

primarily bought it for using Netflix instant view however I was a little disappointed with the search functions and one other huge problem is that sometimes when viewing content on Netflix the player makes a loud hissing sound that only stops when you power down the player! I really like the way the player is designed and the picture quality is great... you just have to sort of be patient with the bugs I mentioned.. I haven't played a disc in it as of yet.
Pros: player has many viewing functions
Cons: player hangs and makes a loud hissing sound often

Picture quality is very good. Lots of features and DIVX codec a real plus.
Pros: netflix, pandora, vudu, usb
