This kept my team charged as we raced across Morocco this month. I strapped it to the front of my bike and it had a full charge every evening, even after trickle charging a bit during the day. It even survived a wipe-out, it's beat up but is still charging away. Thanks for a solid product BioLight!

I’m not finding any use for this. The unit overheats and shuts off for like an hour before you can use. I get maybe 20-30 min before it overheats. Not sure if I have a defective panel but I have to fool with it all day to even get something charged. Not worth the hassle. Maybe mine was defective though.. when it did work it worked well. The light indicators show strength of sun power. Love the sun dial to line up. Like that it has an onboard battery although I have never once seen it have the rated power.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Second BioLite product that stopped working

Hi,
I have a number of BioLite products. I have the Firepit (and all the accessories), two SolarPanel 5+, a PowerLight, and 2 PowerLight minis. I really want to like the products and the company, but my products seem to all fail after a year and a half.
I bought a SolarPanel 5+ and a PowerLight for my parents who spend some time in an area prone to hurricanes. The PowerLight failed after about a year and half and I did not hear anything back from my inquiries.
I just tested one of the SolarPanel 5+ and it is no longer working (no lights and no charging). I tried it at noon with multiple cables and multiple devices (including BioLite products). This is even more of a pain because I had to buy a brand new PowerLight to replace the defective one.
I really wanted to make this work. I like the mission and I like the promises of the products, but at this point I am just waiting for everything else to fail.

Doesn’t charge iPhone or Watch

Saw the charge icon for ~5 seconds. Didn’t work after that. Tried all troubleshooting options. Terrible purchase.

Elegant yet light design means I can put this anywhere (and it helps to charge my cell phone, GoPro cameras, MP3 player and more!). I'm starting small on this journey to reduce my carbon footprint, and using Biolite's Solar Panel is a very nice, easy start.

It stopped working and I’m very upset no one has gotten back to me. I’ve purchased several biolite products and I hope this is rare occurrence and someone correct whats happen.

I have the biolite camp and cook stoves and it charges the blower batteries just fine. Thank you biolite for great customer service and for replacing my solar panel. Looking forward to buying more products.

I bought this and figured I wasn't using it right, as a previous review mentioned the instructions being shoddy. I looked up the instructions, and if I'm not mistaken, this thing should charge off of stored energy, and not need the sun. It hasn't done that since my first time using it out. Now, my third time testing after studying the directions, it doesn't read the USB, and only shows battery life once every, whenever it feels like it. Still, oddly, reads and charges in sunlight. Disappointed, as I was looking forward to taking this out on the trail.
