Disappointing

I have had this for 2 or 3 years. When it was new out of the box I learned that on a 70 degree day the unit gets hot enough to engage the safety features on the battery and the battery won't charge. This made the built in battery useless most of the year. I took it backpacking once and would plug my phone in directly instead of charging the battery during the day. It has been used 4 or 5 times since. Today I say it outside, charged the battery until the indicator said it was full, then brought it in to charge my phone. While not being used my phone charge went from 26% to 27% then the battery on the solar panel was drained. I have replaced this with another brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Doesn't work

Battery seems busted. When I plug my phone in, it shows "charging" but winds up having lower energy after being plugged in than it was before. Tested on some other products (e.g. my Kindle), and it looks like after a full charge it can only pass along about 639 mAh of charge from this battery to the kindle, and does so rather slowly. Would not recommend as something to rely on while backpacking.

Won't charge iPhone 11

Giving it three stars instead of two for it's durability and design, which is generous considering that it doesn't charge a phone. That was the reason I bought it.

Nothing but frustration

I have the Panel 5+ and Panel 10. Both units do not charge my phone from the onboard battery even when it's completely full. I press the charging button while my phone is connected to either of the panels with the onboard batteries, it charges for about 2 seconds and stops. Have tried everything to no avail. Even when in direct sunlight charging my android phone constantly starts and stops charging. It's infuriating. Such a waste of hard earned money.

So far no good...

So far I have not had a lot of luck. It does not always charge when it should. Also seems to have an issue when in sun for a while. Get all 4 LED's blinking like its faulted. Still trying to figure it out. I will give it a wall charge and one more chance.

I've owned the +5 for several years now and charge my I phone without any problems. It charges by bluetooth speaker faster than the wall outlet. I bought one for my son in Vegas and he has had no problems with his either. Make sure you charge it before using it.

I am 70 yrs old. Just used my solar pad yesterday when power was out for over 5 hours to charge up my phone. I recharge off my deck. Great item for me love the slim size. Even got the light too for night!!
