Great A/C

Compact and powerful.

My second purchase of this unit. First one lasted 8 yrs. before developing a freon leak somewhere in the far back corner of the coil. Otherwise I am sure it would have run may more years. The opening I have required the compact cabinet size and yet needed capability to cool a 600sq.ft. area. Our Dallas summers tend to be in the upper 90’s into low 100’s from May to mid October. The first unit did a very good job as does the new one. I just set the temp to 77 and forget it. This space is a garage/hobby workshop and the A/C recovers nicely even when I drive in a hot vehicle. I did lots of shopping and this unit was the only one I found that met the size and power requirements. Great little unit!

Annoying features but cools adequately

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This air conditioner has features I dislike. Instead of staying on at a steady cool cycle as my other a/c units have done, it cycles on and off, and that is audible. The fan still blows if you set it that way, but it doesn't always cool, creating a dank smell and a noise as the compressor goes on and off. In addition, it begins on an econ setting, which turns it all the way on and off to conserve energy. Thus if you don't want this setting, you must always turn it on at the unit rather than with the remote. It does have a decently powerful blast of air with the fan, but despite the twirling controls at top to direct that air, it seems to blow toward the bed, which I do not like. I bought it because the dimensions matched my old unit, so it installed in my window with no problem, but compared to my older unit, it's not as good for my needs and preferences.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My only complaint is the packaging and where the flexible sides mount. The holding bracket was broken and I had difficulty mounting the flexible side closures

Great Little Window Air Conditioner
