Disappointing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always liked LG products. I bought this unit to replace the LP1214 unit I had for 4 years. It had started getting noisy. When I hooked this unit up, it made a loud whistling noise. I discovered that the exhaust hose does not seal properly when you connect it to the unit. I called LG and they sent a technician to my house. I was pleasantly surprised they did this. When he got here, he said there was nothing he could to alleviate the problem. The compressor also makes a loud noise when it turns on. He said there was nothing he could do about this either.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchased this model to replace a different brand that I had for 7 years. Just after the 1 year mark, the unit sounds like it is blowing a whistle for end of shift when the ac kicks on. It also makes noises that sound like pot and pans being played with at different times, especially when I have the fan on high, so bad that I do not use the high function.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought it in June 2017 now Oct 2018 it’s blowing room temp air. Seems with this unit this is a common problem, right after warranty it breaks. Why fix it it will break again unless LG has updated the defective parts in all these units. Only used during summer months so maybe used 6 months total.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The portable air conditioner was bought earlier this month and I am very pleased with this item. I live on the top floor of an apartment building that does not have air conditioning so my apt. remained hot and humid day and night. Since having the a/c, i rest comfortably at home, no longer having to use a fan to blow hot air or leaving early mornings to visit friends that had air conditioning. I would highly recommend this item to anyone that has a problem with heat. This unit has a remote control, cools the area quickly, and set up was fast and easy.
