Short lifespan, blows circuits

It started out OK, but if this AC is plugged in I can use nothing else with power in the room. It blows awesome cold air for a couple minutes, and then switches to blowing hot air regardless of temperature settings. Way too expensive of a product for this poor of performance. I bought this over other models to stick with LGs reputation but will no longer support LG and their products.

Great unit for the price!

Just bought this unit, and it's the first portable air conditioner I've owned. It was very easy to install, and the directions were very easy to understand. It took a while for the unit to cool the room I had it in, however, it was an extremely warm day (over 90 degrees) and the room had already heated to almost 80 degrees. Once the room was cooled, however, it maintained it wonderfully. I have not cleaned it or drained it yet, as it is still very new, but the instructions are pretty straight forward and I believe I will have no trouble at all.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

It's cool!

South Florida in July. No A/C, no money to fix it. Sweating from places I didn't know I had sweat glands. Enter the LP1215GXR. All I needed was something to cool down one room and this machine was more than enough. It's a LITTLE noisy, but MUCH quieter than any window unit I have ever seen.

Love the air conditioner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in California and many of the homes don't have air conditioning. We have had exceptionally hot summers. This unit was a life saver and does a great job cooling the room down quickly. I have 2 off them and they work great.

Didn't Last

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these type of portable air-conditioners so much better than the ones you have to set into the window opening, but they just don't last. My 3-year old LG has stopped cooling. Had a different brand before the LG and it also died in less than 5 years. In contrast, I have a window AC that's at least 10 years old and still going strong. I just can't recommend these.
Pros: easy to use

Failed 3 times in under 3 years
on May 6, 2020

We've had this unit just under 3 years and it has failed multiple times. First time about 1 year in we have to have the unit repaired, another a few months after the initial repair, and most recently about 35 months from purchase. Each time it has stopped cooling. This is obviously a lemon, should not have this many problems with its main function for existence.

Good lord

I was at home laying on my bed when I started smelling smoke. I looked over to my lg air conditioner and there was blue light coming from behind it. I could hear the arching of the electricity. The plug circuit breaker did not trip and the plug fused to the outlet. It started a fire on my wall which I put out with a fire extinguisher. Had I not been home, there would have been a big fire. I have had nothing but problems with the unit. Last year it ran the whole time with no issues. It’s hit or miss with this cooler.
