its easy too useand set up

i was surprised how easy it was too set up and use.it does a very good job cooling down the room I put it in .and it does it very fast. the remote control makes it very easy too operate. three fan speeds are just rightand it runs perty quiet so I can use it in the bedroom.the filter is easy too clean and the water tank is easy too drain.overall I am very happy with this product.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design

Great Portable air

Bought this air conditioner in June. It's a real work horse, but the best thing about it is it doesn't take up a whole window. I can leave the window screen in and the slim insert works to vent the product. Very unintrusive and a very effective cooler.

works great, but have to drain every day

Love this unit. can't turn down the ac in our house under 85 degrees or else electric bill is outrageous. So this works perfectly in my bedroom. However... and it may be due to the humidity, but this unit fills with water practically every day! It's not on DRY mode, i've checked this... running on COOL mode only.. it fills up with water, and you can hear it splashing around in the fan. and it comes out of the vents. I have to empty the drain plug, put down towels, and then lay down the unit on its side, and shake it about until i get all the water to come out. Im doing this almost every night before bed. SUCH AN ANNOYANCE because when there's water in it... its squeaking and making splashing noises, and dripping all over my carpets..
BUT when its dry, it works great... I read somewhere that someone drilled a hole in the bottom and put it on top of a big drain pan.. i may look into that..

LG 12K BTU Portable Air Conditioner

Forty years in Seattle and finally had to buy an air conditioner. Researched several model reviews and I chose the LG because of the reviews. Glad I did, the unit was easy to set up and works great. The remote is hard to read in some light settings, but not a big deal. If it is as hot next year, I will buy another one for downstairs.

Poor Customer Service and performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 3 years ago and have had the same problem (squeaky fan)since after about the first 6 months. The problem was finally corrected recently. However, now, the unit is producing over 1.5 pints of water every hour. I will never buy another LG product

Does not take up the entire window

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this unit to cool a kitchen in an old (1850) home. Has a lot of power to cool the entire area. Pretty quiet and has vanes that move up and down to throw some of the cool air around. Nice LCD remote comes with it. Only been using it a week or so and still trying to see if there is an auto setting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had 2 window units go out the same day so I do not know much about long term but here is what I do know. The design for installation is excellent, about the same weight when getting it into the property but much easier to handle it both on stairs and entry into the units. After the first installation (about 1/2 the typical window unit install time) then the time was approximately 15 - 20 minutes and it was up and running/cooling. I love the feature that sweeps the cool air up and down. That is a good cooling feature to get the heat up toward the ceiling cooled down also, not just at one level. It does not sit on the window sill which will helps the windows last a lot longer and no need to build up the sill where a window unit would sit. to me tis is another huge benefit of the installation design
