Pros and cons

We bought all GE Cafe appliances as part of a remodel a few months ago, including this dishwasher. Pros and cons are listed below; cons seem inappropriate at this price point.
Pros: gets dishes etc. very clean, extremely quiet operation, love the upper silverware rack, no problems to date.
Cons: the end-of-cycle signal is inaudible even if you are in the kitchen, so the only way to know it is done is by checking whether the light has changed from orange to green. In contrast, we can hear the microwave-is-done and oven-has-reached-temperature alarms in the next room. This matters because running the dry cycle adds an hour and doesn’t get the dishes dry. We have found that if you open the door and pull out all three racks when the cycle is done, the dishes “flash dry” in 10 or 15 minutes. But knowing when to open the door is a nuisance. The cycle times show on the panel, but they are not reliable. We ran the normal cycle tonight which supposedly takes an hour and 18 minutes. It actually took just over an hour and 40 minutes.
Two easy fixes seem obvious: use the beeper from the microwave so it is audible, or give this unit WiFi. Our oven has WiFi, which might be useful if we needed to preheat while we we out this hasn’t happened yet. The refrigerator has optional WiFi, which we haven’t added, since getting a text that our water filter needs changing soon didn’t seem too useful. But this dishwasher needs WiFi.
If a louder alarm retrofit is available, please let me know.

GE Cafe Series Dishwasher - Decent

My wife and I purchased the GE Cafe Series Dishwasher and thought it was a wonderful purchase. However, after only a month, we ran into an issue. The leak sensor would not turn off, which made the dishwasher stop working. We have had quite the issue getting a GE certified technician to come help us get it repaired. Perhaps it was installed improperly, however it is still not working.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Super Quiet Dishwasher

Think again about 3rd rack

I have never had to complain about a dishwasher and I have had several. I thought the 3rd rack would be good but forget it, dishes don't dry completely because the 3rd rack holds too much moisture. I took out the 3rd rack and still have to spot dry but its better. I was told all 3rd rack dishwasher have a drying problem. Stick with the 2 rack, it is a cheaper and better machine. So now the light has stopped working that tells which cycle is running, so I will be seeing the service man again. Oh how I wish I had my old dishwasher, this one was a waste of money.
