Have been using this unit since purchase 2 years ago. The performance is lackluster at best. Dishes must be thoroughly rinsed prior to loading. Even with the constant use of JetDry, dishes come out with a white filmy dust on them - requiring rinsing or wiping before use. The auto-door for the detergent doesn't work well and only opens on its own during the cycle about 50% of the time. The other times, the soap remains trapped in the unopened door. All of this has me sometimes washing the dishes by hand since I know I'm going to have to rinse and dry when they come out anyway. Also, a "normal" cycle is very long and takes well over an hour to complete but the shorter cycles are not effective. On the plus side, it is very quiet and has an attractive and sleek appearance, however of all the appliances in the GE Café series suite - this is the most disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Purchase

We are happy with our new dishwasher. No issues! We opted for the model with the upper silverware rack, but find we don't use that nearly as often as we thought because it takes away from the height allowance of the top drawer. The silverware basket works well and in retrospect, may not have paid the extra for the model with the utensils rack.

Not easy to install. Had a leak right away, but leak sensor told of the leak, Service corrected the problem and now able to use again. Very quiet.

A series of problems on the door

It is running quietly but not built strong. Within a few days, the display window got dimmed away. The control panel on the door had to be replaced. Then the door was swung open fast and dropped to the floor hardly. A Spring needed to be fixed. the door was still open too wide and dropped on my toe. Then finally, the water started leaking from somewhere near the plastic soap container was inserted. When the door was open, the water leaked into the door and then flowed to the floor as the bottom of the door is not closed. It couldn't be fixed yet. It has only been two months and I am already too tired to deal with all these problems. The quality control is definately missing.

This dishwasher is very quiet. But, one month of ownership, and 5 dishwasher loads, and the control board broke already and a new one is needed. Can't read the display at all. Inside, the third rack (for laying cutlery down flat) feels cheap and wobbly. It doesn't always clean well up there. The power dry setting is nice, as the dishes come out dry from the dishwasher, although very hot. The bottle jets are a nice feature, but the wine glass stem holder is a bit flimsy. All in all, I would look at Other models before buying this one again

Had this for about 2 months and I love it. So quite. The only thing is, I wish it would show how much is time left during the wash cycle.
