Not a durable product very disappointed

We have had this dishwasher for 4 years and for the last 9 months have replaced the control boards twice as the dishwasher will not turn on. The new boards work for a month or so and again the same issue - no power to the dishwasher. We have had GE products for over twenty years without issues so very disappointed in the performance of this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, Thank you for being a loyal GE Appliances customer! We're deeply sorry you've been through these struggles with your dishwasher, and we know you must be frustrated! Please keep in mind parts, such as the control board, which are ordered by you, an authorized servicer or independent servicer have a 1 year warranty. Parts replaced by a GE Appliances technician (out of warranty) have a 5 year warranty for the parts only. The GE technician must order and install the parts.

Failed Control Board

Roughly 5 years ago we purchased all GE appliances. We've been satisfied with them all until this week. Our dishwasher will no longer run. When we called the store we purchased from, we were quoted that the control board most likely had a failure, this was common with this dishwasher and could cost well over the cost of a new dishwasher. We have had a good run with the dishwasher, but very frustrating.

Stopped working after 2 years. Do not buy

This dishwasher worked for 2 years and for the last 3 we’ve had to replace so many parts that it ended up costing us as much as the dishwasher itself. This is beyond frustrating and has caused more headaches than it’s worth. Stay far away from GE products!

Pay for installation

I’ve got to hand it to the engineers at GE. Not only did they produce a beautiful, sleek appliance that cleans my dishes to utter perfection, when they designed it, they kept the consumer experience in mind.
The brilliant minds at GE recognized that people, by nature, need to work hard at something to fully appreciate it, solving problems builds self-esteem, and moreover when people achieve the impossible they feel like they are winning at life. They channeled this awareness and incorporated it into each and every step of the installation process. From the placement of the water connection 1’ underneath the appliance in a space that could only be accessible by the hand of a small child, to the adjustable feet for leveling the machine that could only be adjusted by…. well…. Magic.
I was especially impressed with how they dutifully saved the biggest challenge for last. Replacing the floor protection pan. A simple task requiring two hands while lying prone on the floor, forcing me to rely on blind luck.
And, while they could have left me to figure out the entire process on their own, I sincerely appreciate the fact that they included the instruction booklet. With vague directions and poor illustrations, I was forced find creative ways to accomplish each and every task laid before me.
In conclusion, bringing this “baby” home was an experience much akin to childbirth. The entire process took two days and left my entire body in pain and my brain numb with exhaustion. Yet, bone-weary and sore, I took great pride in watching my new dishwasher quietly purr as it washed the first load of dishes.
For anyone considering purchasing this dishwasher, and in all likelihood any product made by GE, I strongly encourage you to pay the extra cost and let whoever you purchased it from deliver and install it for you.

SO DISAPOINTED

My mom bought this dishwasher for us as a house warming gift and for it to just stop working after a year and a half. I was so proud of my new kitchen and to have all these beautiful GE appliances in my home and now for it to just stop working..... Very sad!!!!!

Not worth one cent!!

I had repairman out nine! Times before it ever ran correctly. It still does not clean well and the plate racking configuration is strange. I would never recommend this product.

Stays on Too Long

The unit works well and is quiet but when it's don, it made the sound and then the time of the cycle was displayed for a long time. I thought maybe I needed to do something since it had Just been installed, I opened the door, held the Start Button for 3 seconds, it beeped.. I closed the door (per the Instructions) and closed the door and the time of the last cycle was displayed for about 15 min before it Finally went off... this is extremely annoying... you wonder why is it on.. How do I turn this thing Off???
