The GE stainless steel dishwasher is outstanding compared to this old GE dishwasher I had for 10 years.

My husband...bless him. He can absolutely fix or install ANYTHING. He is an electrician by trade, but has had years of experience working on all types of equipment, machinery, construction projects, and also several dishwashers in our 21 years of marriage. Truly, I brag about his ability to fix anything (the correct way) to everyone I meet. But this installation.... just about did him in. Hardest thing he has ever installed. I was waiting for him to call Lowe's to pick it up.
But...with strength, perseverance, and several beers that evening, he was victorious.
Pay the extra to have someone else install.

Machine has been excellent so far. The only thing that I'm not too crazy about is bending down and reaching to clean filter. Doesn't help to have a cranky back.

Love this! its quiet and has great features. We have a little one so the bottle wash feature is wonderful for those formula bottles to get super clean! the silverware on the front of the door makes for extra room too! We also like that there is a button lock so little fingers dont mess with the washing cycle

Installation was a nightmare!

I am giving it 4 stars for appearance and quietness of the appliance. BUT I honestly don't know if I will like the dishwasher or not since my husband finally got it installed after hours and hours of trying. He is an electrician and actually built our house so he can fix or install anything and I mean anything! So, it never occurred to us that he would have a problem installing this dishwasher since he has installed many over the years. These directions were very convoluted. The diagrams were very hard to see and poorly shown. The 3 pieces of trim were a nightmare trying to install. (I tried to help, but I still can't understand how the diagrams went.) Then the side clips to mount the dishwasher to the cabinet took another few hours of fighting with it. So, my husband (who is so smart) got it to work. Honestly, I am not sure if a qualified plumber would have took as much care or spent as much time as my husband did getting it perfect.

I bought this washer app. 5 months ago. It works great and is quite. The right detergent makes all the difference as well.
