Great Stuff

I've been using this thing just about since I got it, mostly to keep my phone charged at work. It might take a little while to charge up but once it is, it charges my phone from 0 to 100 in about an hour, hour and a half max. Bare in mind that's usually about 50 percent in half an hour or thereabouts. (Samsung Galaxy S6)
With the multitude of cables I've gotten from other products I'm even able to have the PowerLight in my jacket pocket and my phone in my trouser pocket, while charging.

The lantern's got a great light to it, lovely warm lighting but not too warm that it sacrifices actual light, capable of lighting my room (albeit very small) fairly easily, aside from nooks and whatnot.
The torch/flashlight is pretty impressive, the beam confidently covers a distance of about 30-40 metres and is by no means a narrow beam.

Overall, you might say that for the price it's still a questionable purchase, but I think with the right application and mindset on how you're going to use the thing, it's more than worth the money.

Great Product

I bought the PowerLight after a power outage and realizing I didn’t have a good flashlight. I chose this product due to its compact and multifunction nature. The PowerLight works great and is easy to use.
The separate buttons to turn on the various lighting options are helpful, although due to the smaller size can take a try or two to turn on if you don’t touch them right the first time.
My only concern is that the product specifications state that it is water resistant. This is fine for my uses at home and limited outdoor use, but the rubber-like material enclosure cover for the USB port is rather loose. At least the cover doesn’t fit snuggly like the covers on the rear of the PowerLight.

Can it get any better?

Seriously this little light is the best thing ever. Bright normal flashlight and then the lantern portion can be both sides or just one side lit up.
The best part is at night I just clip it onto a belt look as its light enough to not be of any issue. Im hands-free and the light is down low. Since its more an ambient light (still bright) you are not walking with a headlamp that only lights up what you look at and you are not blinding anyone you look at.
Again if you need that spotlighting just flip on the flashlight portion. If you use a pit toilet... the lantern will light up the entire room no problem.
I love this light, best money on a flashlight that I ever spent...
Oh did I mention it powers the other lights and also has USB that can charge other devices.... Seriously can it get any better? I do not think so! Love it, recommend, and trust it!

Dang it, I broke it.

I bought the powerlight with the two sitelights back in 2013? Something like that. Anyway, off to Korea they went. Ta da, field site lighting in the tent, plus a flashlight, plus a spare battery. Then back "home" and away to the deserts of the western US. Same deal. And then it died. Wouldn't take a charge, became an expensive paperweight. Chucked it. So why four stars? Because it went around the freaking world and got used in some seriously rough environments for four years before it died. I think I'll buy another. After all, I already have the two sitelights. (Seriously. Great flashlight, awesome light source in a tent or what have you, and if your environment isn't as harsh as mine I'd wager it will last longer than mine did. And four years is no slouch.)

Super Useful

I got the Powerlight with the intention of using the nanogrid. Recently I started using it as a signal light for bus drivers. They all thank me when I get on the Bus. I use the nanogrid at work because it allows me to turn off the nights and have a more relaxed environment. I'm going to be investing into the Baselantern XL for sure!

This is the most versitile portable lighting system. Ever. Work requires me to have a good-sized suitcase. While travelling one needs to be able to address any problem, as there is no such thing as a perfect day in the field. The PowerLight Bundle, with the addition of an extra pair of SiteLights have so far taken care of every lighting need. I try to make sure the PowerLight is in my vehicle. If for some reason I find myself without it (hey, it's often needed around the house) my confidence drops.
Having an emergency power bank for those I forgot to charge my phone moments to using the SiteLights during a power outage to give enough light to read effortlessly. Aside from the dyslexia.

Awesome power and lasting light

this product is one of my favorites, the lantern in a soft but bright light the whole group can enjoy and paired with the Sitelights our campsite always ends up with at least on episode of outdoor theater.
the quality of the product is outstanding, it is durable and all the portcovers do a good job of keeping unwanted dirt and dust out.
Don't but put off by the long charge time as the light more than makes up for it in battery life. for the multi day hiker you will have plenty of light for at least two nights even with the Sitelights attached.
Overall outstanding product and i look forward to building my collection and again thank you Biolite for such an amazing product.

A great Unit

I really like this unit. Works great as a lantern and a flashlight. I bought this for a walk across America for a charity event. I like the idea of the battery bank and useful function all in one. A bright light and not to heavy. The reason I gave this a 4 star is the flashlight function. The flashlight is described as I believe 250 lumens? When comparing beams on my 125 lumens flashlight, the lessor lumens rating shines threw the biolight at 250 lumens. Not a deal breaker, although knowing I would be on the road for 4 plus month and this would be my go to unit? All in all a great unit. I bought a second flashlight 450 lumens with a focus beam, so I can look a little further than camp radius. As a ultra light backpacker, this is a great choice paired with a headlamp. You have light at basecamp and a head lamp to go mobile with in addition to a battery bank for your camera, GPS, and other gear. The unit is about the same wait as just a battery bank with some perks. The Mini Biolight is another great choice. I would recommend this, and would buy another Powerlight.
