I Used To Love It

I bought the full Nanogrid package and fell in love with it ... until i went camping in colder conditions in mid fall. The temp wasn't quite at freezing, but pretty cool at night. By myself, and near 1:30 am, a pack of wolves set up shop not far from me. All i wanted was a bit of light to see what i was doing while trying to prepare for the worst. It worked fine earlier that night. I thought it just ran out of power, but after returning home, i found it would no longer take a charge. I'm sure my 4 Sitelights work, but are useless without the PowerLight. I did not read anything about cold temps killing it completely. As an owner of Campstove 1, Campstove 2 (Kettlepots for both), solar panel, grill attachment, coffee press, and a Firepit, I would hope that a company I've been very loyal to would help me in some way.
The curved tip fell off in my hand and one of the lenses fell out with it. After only 4 months with very light use. It’s durability is confirmed limited. Extremely disappointing after stocking up on lots of biolite gear. No problems with any other products as of yet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Dan, our support team will gladly create a warranty replacement claim for your PowerLight; this should not be happening to your light after 4 months of use. Please just reach out to us here: https://www.bioliteenergy.com/pages/contact
I love the products from this company . have a biotite stove and this light. works great, holds a charge well and is super easy to recharge. But geez the controls.. could they be more cryptic? The instructions need to be clear including what each button controls. Trial and error works but I doubt the company intends for it to be so hard.. To charge your device you need to turn on one of the 3 buttons, none of which are described in the videos I saw nor the original instructions. Also note that I can't seem to make it charge my iPhone 7plus.. it charges for a few seconds and then stops charging. I've had this light for several years and maybe there's a newer version and, if so, it doesn't seem fair that I should have to do the spend for a later model to charge a later iPhone
Ordered another one of these fantastic lights. So many uses with one light. Finally got to use a previously purchased light at hunting camp (this one didn't arrive before I left). It's a flashlight, a table lamp, overhead light and, use with the flex-light, it's great for table top reading. Oh, almost forgot that I used it to give my cell phone a quick charge to keep track of local weather reports.
Was surprised that battery was DOA when it arrived it charged overnight and worked well next day. Battery does not last very long when using lantern on full bright. Cool, functional, just be ready to recharge often.
I'm writing this review because as I suggested in the prior review I might buy another one. I did. You don't buy a product twice if it isn't excellent so I felt like writing a 5-star was the only way to do it justice. The two sitelights I had from the first purchase (5? years ago) still work. I don't use it as a portable battery, I use it as a flashlight/sitelight station when I'm camping. It's wonderful for that purpose.
