saved me in a pinch

Was out in country using phone for directions and a survey. Phone battery went down. When remembered Powerlight lantern was in vehicle. Hooked phone to it and was able to continue to work for another 2-3h to complete job.---so grateful

Biolite Company as whole comes through above and beyond.

Since coming across Biolite, specifically the Cookstove a few years ago, I have become an addicted user to quite a number of the products that Biolite offers. One of these products is the Nanogrid, specifically the Powerlight.
It simply is not just an item reserved for a campsite.
I've utilized mine of course on a campsite, but also at home during power outages, as my 'go to' general purpose flashlight, as outdoor night time gazebo lighting, bedroom 'mood' lighting, to charge many USB chargeable devices, even to charge the Powerlight Mini, but probably the best application of it was to assist a stranded motorist on a very cold Canadian winter night. The motorist's car was broken down in a non-lit rural area with no street lighting or flashlight of their own. The powerlight afforded them lighting to temporarily fix the issue on the non running car and be on their way well ahead of the 1.5hr CAA wait estimate to get to them.

Unfortunately the button on the Powerlight to operate the Lantern option malfunctioned rendering the lantern inoperable. I contacted Biolite to initiate a warranty claim. The initial response was above and beyond expected, as I didn't have to submit the Powerlight unit to Biolite, I was advised a replacement unit would be shipped to me at no cost. There was a shipping error that caused the unit to be sent to an incorrect address, not my own. After a few attempts contacting Biolite on the shipping error, instead of sending just another Powerlight unit, as an apology for the shipping error, I was sent a full Nanogrid system.
Not only did I not have to submit the defective Powerlight unit, as it was just the lantern option that was inoperable (the Sitelight, Torch and USB charging options still were operable), I was sent the complete Nanogrid System in the end.
Although there was the initial shipping error on the free Powerlight unit and some minor communication issues to resolve that matter, Biolite, in my opinion came through to resolve those issues above and beyond my expectations.
I personally recommend not only the Nanogrid system but many other Biolite products offered and to contact Biolite should there be any manufacturer defects or malfunctions covered by the warranty guidelines as Biolite 'made right' my Powerlight warranty claim issue and accidental shipping error and communication delay.

Power failure

Awesome flashlight/lantern

This thing gives off a lot of light. The beam for spotlighting works perfectly. Add the two site lights and you have a great little camp light or even a good work light.
I love the metal hanging feature. When camping I hook in onto my belt loop on my pants. Perfect hands-free path illumination. The light is soft but bright.
