We love our Basecamp

My friend introduced us to BioLite several years ago. Love the innovation and needs this company meets. My friend brought the BaseCamp and pizza dome option to the house and cooked a dozen pizzas on it. I was sold and bought one the moment it went on sale. I would have bought it at full price, totally worth it, but took more time for a non essential grill for me. Faster cooking fire than charcoal, and am just using broken branches I clean up around the yard. Wife and kids love it. Just awesome well built grill. Cast iron fire chamber...I wouldn't know how to improve it. If the grill top burns out in the distant future due to excessive use, it would be nice to have a replacement option. Great job BioLite!! We love it and are telling everyone we meet.

A MUST HAVE in Hurricane territory

When hurricane Matthew finally moved on after sitting over our heads for 18 hours we pulled out our Base Camp and were able to continue living our lives. For 10 days we counted on your company and have only become more impressed with your green technology and endless ingenuity. Also, I highly recommend the Pizza dome to have ultimate control over cooking in windy or rainy circumstances. We did not buy these items for natural disasters as we normally just weekend it at music festivals, but thank goodness we had them on hand.

10k Pizza Oven

OK, this thing rivals my 10k wood burning pizza oven (with optional pizza dome), at least that's what my kids say. I'm going to keep telling myself that in no way is this even close. I have to :)
This unit is amazing in its simplicity. Any time you cook with wood is just plain better and this unit gets it done and more. I can now take that great flavor with me anywhere.
Please folks make your own dough (it takes 5 minutes) and use good ingredients. No pre-made pizza kits.. those are just nasty.

Perfect Off Grid Cooking

Took a chance off of other reviews and I am very impressed, this is the perfect off grid cooking stove and add the pizza kit it’s amazing. Love the product and don’t forget the carry bag.

My pizza oven

This little grill surpasses my wildest hopes. It is so easy to set up and lite a fire. Got the pizza dome with it so is more like a covered grill. With just a small hand full of twigs I cooked two pizzas to perfection. Loved the smoky flavor and the crust was just golden yet still chewy and foldable. Wish had taken photos but between the smell and looks just couldn't wait.

Dead battery -- melt the power module.

There is no warning that the fan will not run if the battery is dead/empty. The result is that the entire thermo-electric assembly overheats, solder melts and wires disconnect, and the plastic air duct melts. BioLite could have printed a warning to charge the battery first with a special cable, but they didn't.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great just got even greater

We cooked veggies and sausages for probably 50 people and it was super easy; the cooktop fits a lot of food and the lever just slides right back and forth if you need to grill or use a burner (it really does make a difference). The folding legs put you at a comfortable cooking height without having to place it on a table. Everyone was charging devices (a huge pro to these BioLite products), and it was so fun to see them in action. Can't wait to take mine out for a spin -- outside of Brooklyn!
