This was purchased as a gift and a replacement. My husband travels frequently for 3-4 days at a time; so he simply wore out his old piece.
The good: sturdy construction, plenty of smaller zippered side pockets for those small items in the main compartment, good configuration of outside, quick accessible pockets, stylish (matches his laptop backpacks), and lightweight.
The bad: although the same size as his previous piece (21”), it is not as deep and therefore doesn’t quiet hold as much; he misses the detachable (snap buttons) garment bag his old piece had built in on the opening side as well as the two shoe pockets.
Overall: he loves his new suitcase and for his frequent 3-4 day trips, it works well with a little bit of adjusting to the new configuration (after years and years of packing the old one in his sleep, lol). On the longer trips and to colder climates, especially in the cooler times of year when jackets become a necessity, he will need to become a little more creative and/or offload a few items into his backpack (he does not like using the expandable feature as it creates problems with the overhead bins in the airplanes).
Reason for this purchase: come to enjoy the quality of the Swissgear laptop backpacks, so when it was time to replace the suitcase, there was no doubt we would give the suitcase line a try. So far so great :-)

I had an earlier SG carry-on from a set with more pieces. The handle of the carry-on stopped extending fully. Tried multiple times, but could not get it repaired. Otherwise, perfectly fine. A shame. This new one I purchased, the handle seems a bit superior. BUT THE OVERALL INTERIOR MEASUREMENT IS SMALLER. DOES NOT HOLD AS MUCH. Have not gotten rid of the original. Still hoping somehow to get it fixed.

QUALITY - brilliant & sturdy! BALANCE - has great balance on all 4 wheels. a lot of carry on luggages have awful balance when empty or fall over when full !! COLOUR - is not red as shown but instead burgundy. WHEELS - 4 wheels 360 degree movement/ mobility! fabulous!. WEIGHT - its 8.4 lbs in weight so most airlines only allow max 21 lbs. carryon so only 12lbs of items allowed inside. ALL AROUND BRILLIANT!

This is my second Swissgear carry on luggage I've purchased. The first was for my daughters trip to Spain & Chicago for school trips and this last one is for my sons trip to NYC for school. They are very durable & well made. The added exterior pockets are helpful as well as the attachable plastic pouch for small toiletries or maybe a last minute wet bathing suit! Planning on purchasing 2 larger suitcases for them for their trip to China & their future.

This bag did well on its first trip. It held 4 days of clothes, including 2 pairs of shoes, and fit easily in the overheads of AA planes. It is super lightweight compared to the 15 y/o LL Bean one that it replaced.

For some reason, even the most expensive suitcases are tiny, I tried 3 before I bought this one! This is a perfect size, like my last suitcase, where it is roomy and fits the protocol for airlines! Stunning color, I usually get black but decided to do something different! Beautiful and perfect fit! I like the multiple compartments and zippers, etc. too!
