I wish the ice maker made more ice. We always seem to be out of ice.

Purchased 7 months ago and has required warranty calls 3 times. Vegatable crisper drawer front tabs to attach drawer front to drawer broke off. Had to order parts and repair myself. Frost build up required service calls to repair factory design flaw. Two weeks after repair the same issue came up again requiring yet another service call.. So happy I purchased extended warranty (not from Whirlpool) for this refrigerator.

We love the design, and over all we really feel it was a great buy. The only issue we've had is the doors closing. When closing the doors there is a load squeak. It seems it coming from the door seals or flaps just before the door completly closes. I was wondering if I just spray silicone on the flap hinges. Anyway something your techs may know something. It has to be an easy fix. I would appreciate any help you may have with this issue.

IT IS JUST ME AND MY HUSBAND, BUT WE ENTERTAIN ALOT SO MY NEW FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR IS THE BEST. I HAVE PLENTY OF SPACE, AND THE ADJUSTABLE SHELF IS VERY HANDY. THE PULLOUT FREEZER HOLDS MORE THAN YOU THINK. WE HAVE THE ICE/WATER IN THE DOOR AND THE ICE MAKER REALLY MAKES ICE FAST, BUT HAS A FEATURE CALLED VACATION, SO IT DOESN'T MAKE AS MUCH ICE, AWESOME. WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH OUR PURCHASE.

Not recommended at all. Love the features and the look, but this fridge is full of problems. Ice maker has been replaced twice, and still stops working. Have had repair techs out 7 times already. Water drips from the top all of the time and down the door, onto the floor. Freezer quit and there wasn't even a fix so tech jerry-rigged it. It has stopped working again… Lost more frozen foods, ice maker also not working again. The problems are constant. Not worth spending any of your money on. Look elsewhere ~ away from this headache of an appliance.

I love my new refrigerator. It has so much more room for large bowls than my side-by-side. I like the meat tray and crispers at arm level. The freezer is convenient with lots of compartments.

I am used to a side-by-side refrigerator so when I moved into our new home & our Whirlpool french door refrigerator was installed I couldn't have been happier. It is super spacious! There is so much sensible space that I am able to keep everything at my fingertips & organized (no more "adjusting" the contents after going food shopping to make things fit). I have also had several compliments about how nice it looks in my kitchen (& I agree). Those are the Pros and they weigh very heavy in my liking this refrigerator. Now for the Cons. There are only a few, but worth mentioning if you are weighing your options. The noise. I understand that new technology has caused most refrigerators to have noises that "back in the day" were not of concern. I do take issue with this noise however when it affects the comfort level within my home. If you have an open floor plan & your kitchen is open to your family room, etc. you have to consider the noise level from this appliance. Plus, with tile & hardwood flooring allowing noises to carry the noise even more, what has become "standard operating sounds" for refrigerators cannot be overlooked. The first week I had my Whirlpool, things were great. I thought I found my pot of gold. That changed after we settled into our new home & filled it with our normal food volume. The refrigerator must have had to work harder to maintain temp. so the high pitched noise of the motor has become overwhelming (They have an awesome page on the website that allows you to hear "normal" operating noises. Go to Service & Support, then Product Help, Normal Operating Sounds). If you listen to the "cooling ramp up" and magnify that 5x or more you will understand that high pitched noise that bounces off the wall behind the refrigerator & reverberates into the dining room, office, & family room making it a total distraction while trying to watch TV. The motor runs 90% of the time to maintain temp. so expect that sound pretty much all of the time. The sound level does vary so it is occasionally tolerable but don't count on it. I understand that everyone has a different tolerance when it comes to such things, however it is such an annoyance I think you should definitely consider this in your decision making. The other concerns are the water leakage when the freezer goes into defrost mode. I'm guessing it is that anyway. The ice maker section on the door & the ceiling of the refrigerator along that portion of the interior sweats. It often will cause water build up in the 2 shelves below the ice maker, as well as drips that form in seams along that ceiling section which then freeze back up with defrost is over. When you open the door with the ice dispenser after this occurs, water drips down the door, onto the freezer door & the floor creating a mess, plus you have to soak up all the water that puddles on those shelves. We have also had occasions where water drips from the water dispenser. That is not often & very random but at one time had caused a puddle in front of the refrigerator that leaked under my cabinets & caused damage to my cabinetry toe kick.I have not contacted a service rep. for these issues. I suppose I could take pictures of the ice drips and discuss the water dripping but when it comes to the noise which is my biggest concern I'm certain they will tell me "it's normal" which would be a waste of time.Just food for thought. Weigh your options. If noise or occasional leaking water is not of concern to you then you will love this refrigerator.
