problem with freezer

we bought this fridge as part of our appliance pkg when we built our new home. I love the space and all of the refrigerator drawers and features. The problem is the freezer. There is a constant build up of ice on the left hand side of the door. To date the problem is on going.un

Worst purchase I have ever made.

I have had it 9 months and have had already had 3 major service problem. Not only have the repairs not worked, it also been a huge run around every time with long holds, customer service not doing what they said they would and generally speaking it's been the worst purchase I have ever made. The product doesn't work properly, and the customer service has been terrible. I couldn't be less happy. It's loud, it didn't keep food cold for two weeks while I waited on repairs and I wanted to unplug it for 2 weeks the next time we waited for repairs because it was so loud. Customer service / warrenty didn't care.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We've had three service calls within the first year to resolve excessive frost buildup. Unit bought in April 2014. The frost was accumulating to the point of preventing the freezer door from opening. Tech replaced multiple seals and applied sealant in a few locations. It seemed to help until this past weekend (Feb 2016) when the unit stopped working. A 12 hour long defrost with the doors open produced an amazing amount of water, which overflowed the evaporation tray. After 24 hours of running the unit is still warm, at 45 degrees in the refrigerator. Deeply disappointed in the unit. We have the extended warranty, but hesitant to replace with the same make and model.

Purchased this refrigerator 1 year ago. Started leaking from the ice maker. It is noisy. Stainless finish scratches easily and is very difficult to keep clean (you can't even touch the doors or you will see fingerprints all over the place). Very disappointed. Will never buy another Kitchenaid.

Has issues and far from Reliable

As others have posted with the KFIS29PBMS model, very noisy, ice buildup on the outside of the ice maker duct work - even with insulation retrofit kit and now after two years the cooling has failed.
Though it is against my nature, did get an extended warranty due to a experiences with a different troublesome brand. We?ll see how this venture works out with this cooling failure.
Also purchased a Kitchenaid range at the same time and reliability was also terrible. The range was warranty replaced due to repeated failures, so far the replacement has not had issues.
It pathetic that after two years one would even have to think of buying a replacement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

good concept but poor production quality

Three problems within first 12 months of use, Freon leakage: they claimed they fixed it but the freezer is still cold enough for ice-cream; water leak due to faulty parts and damaged my brand new kitchen cabinets; ice build up at the back of the ice maker compartment; erratic water leak left top door; condensation build up under the ice maker compartment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've has nothing but problems with this model. Freezes up makes a loud noise. Fixed 3+ times since installed in April. ...Oh its a repair warranty not replacement. I'd never recommend this fridge. There must be a flaw in the design. Oh good news is I can now watch TV as this fridge made so much noise that wasn't possible!
