LEMON...Do NOT buy this refrigerator

Beautiful Refrigerator BUT....Refrigerator is noisy, runs all the time, soft ice cubes (when it makes them) and leaks. Yes, and it seems to turn itself off and I have to re-set the electric panel to get it going again. Love the design, but Kitchenaid needs to do some serious re-thinking/engineering about this refrigerator. I have had Kitchenaid appliances in my home in Maryland for over 10 years and NO problems. Bought this one for a winter home in Florida. 6 months in and had the Compressor replaced and that lasted 2 days. Waiting for the technician for another service call. I have had to throw food away twice from the freezer and the inside refrigerator. At the point where can can't use the refrigerator at all.....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this refrigerator and it was delivered 2 weeks ago. Everything seemed fine until we determined that the refrigerator was not actually cooling anything.
A very pricey appliance that was defective right from the factory.
Needless to say we are very concerned about the future reliability of our KitchenAid appliances. And questioning our decision to purchase them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this fridge 18 months ago and it was very loud from the beginning. The fridge and freezer both stopped working about 3 months ago and we had the entire cooling system completely replaced and just this evening same thing! gone again! two fully stocked fridge and freezer of food wasted!!! I won't be shocked if nothing is done to resolve this issue as well!

Runs continuously!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this refrigerator last year along with the matching oven, microwave, dishwasher and cook top . All the other appliances work great except the refrigerator! Wish I had listened to the other reviewers about the noise problem/ running continuously! The refrigerator has been "serviced" twice (repairmen don't even bother checking it when told that refrigerator is noisy and constantly running). They say it's 'normal'. Should have followed consumers review recommendation. Beautiful refrigerator, but the noise level is a big problem. My kitchen and family room are in the same room, I have to increase my TV's volume in order avoid the refrigerator's noise.

I purchased this refrigerator in March 2013 as a replacement for a year old KitchenAid side-by-side that had irreparable insulation voids. While I loved the style and lighting, I immediately noticed that it was LOUD and condensation/frost was building up on the interior rear wall.
KitchenAid refers to the noise as "normal sounds" and "sounds that are unfamiliar to you". Yes, I am unfamiliar with my refrigerator making more noise than a coffee grinder. It's so loud that I've actually recorded it and if I could figure out how to attach the sound to this review I would. If you have an adjoining kitchen/family room you will be miserable.
In attempting to fix the condensation and frost, the interior lights and ice maker stopped working. Three repair visits later, the lights are working but the frost/condensation continues and the ice maker is still inoperable. The repairman installed a third (or fourth, I've lost count) fix for the frost problem today and I scheduled a 5th repair visit to install a third ice maker. Each of these repair visits require me to miss a half day of work or waste a Saturday.
Even if the frost/condensation and ice maker problems are resolved I'm still left with a refrigerator that is excessively loud, but "normal" according to KitchenAid. So my advice is to avoid this refrigerator altogether. I've always been a KitchenAid fan, but I'm beginning to think they have a serious quality issue and would be hesitant to buy another KitchenAid product.
Pros: Convenient Features, easy to use
Cons: interior frost/condensation, Loud, ice maker failure
