Let's Hope 2nd Time Is a Charm

Recently purchased three KitchenAid appliances. We love the dishwasher and stove. However, after waiting 36 hours, the refrigerator never got below 60 and the freezer never got below 46 degrees. Retailer is replacing the fridge free of charge but at the expense of losing an entire fridge and freezer full of food.

Unit worked great for 1 year and 2 months. Then started having problems not making ice, then freezer quit one week after service man came out refrigerator went to 55 deg. Service man came back with parts but called Kitchenaid and after talking decided to replace with new refrigerator, but lets see how long before I receive new one ! I do have a 3 year service contract.

Beware - Refrigerator has repeatedly had problems
on July 2, 2017

We purchased this fridge a few years ago and were very excited when it was delivered. However shortly afterward, the problems started. The face/handle on the produce/crisper drawers did not last very long - they attach with small plastic tabs which broke soon after purchase. After purchasing a replacement part for a significant amount of $, the hand broke again. Finally after super-gluing it together it has stayed. About 7 months ago (about 3 years into our ownership) we had to have major repairs as the unit stopped cooling. Since that time, we have had 2 repairs to fix fans, the compressor, and during the last repair, the authorized technician stated that our freezer would likely be having problems soon as well. As predicted, we are less than a month from our last set of repairs, and the fridge is again not cooling properly. I am very disappointed with my refrigerator/kitchenaid experience, and am now purchasing a new replacement.

So I had to get a fridge quickly, ours died. Looked at the reviews of the ones at our local big appliance store. So What.. This one has new design problems. Water drips from the ice maker, and it makes ice slow, even in max ice mode.. Have had it about a year now and today all the features stopped working. No ice no water no nothing. Had to pull it put and unplug it for a few minutes, then it started up again.. guess the ole computer needed resetting. wow. I have a very bad feeling that this very expensive fridge will not last half as long as our old one did. It makes me sick to think how the cost will never outway the problems we will have with this one..
Pros: Convenient Features
Cons: random electrical promlems, ice maker drips, 2 liter bottles go where??, how much was that water filter!!

SO Frustrated
on October 21, 2016

We bought his refrigerator in 2013 along with stove, dishwasher, garbage compactor from KitchenAid. The refrigerator was loud from the beginning. But we overlooked this. In March of 2016 the freezer we out. 1 week later the top cooling area stopped cooling - called kitchen Aid repair and went through 2 service calls with different service companies before repair man was able to determine compressor was out. He replaced compressor - freezer worked but top cooling area will not get below 45-50 degrees. We called the repairman back - he told us to fill the refrigerator up with food and it would cool down. Called KitchenAid again the sent a different repair company who has been back 5 times - replace all parts they can think of and as of today October 22 - freezer and refrigerator not cooling at all - From March 2016 to October 2016 no refrigerator! SO tired of this! Waiting on repairman to contact KitchenAid to see what their resolution will be now. Gave 1 star or could not submit
