We have had many problems with the KitcheAid refrigerator and would not recommend. Within a month of purchase we had to replace the icemaker and then we had a leak and had to replace the seals.We are not happy with the quality and would not recommed this appliance.
We have the microwave/oven combo, dishwasher and cooktop from KitchenAid and also a mixer and are very happy with them and would recommend those items.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this last year 2013, but, it only last for 10-months. The technician came and he advise that this cannot be repaired and I got the same model as replacement for the original one. The features are great, but, unfortunately I got the one with defect.

We have been plagued with leaks with all 4 (yes FOUR!) machines in the area of the ice maker. A member of Whirlpool's corporate staff has worked with us trying to provide a machine that works as it is supposed to - to no avail. Sad, very sad. It is not like refrigerators were invented yesterday. I strongly encourage you to get back to basics and engineer and manufacture good quality products.

Purchased refrigerator 4 1/2 years ago. Many things have gone wrong with refrigerator. A total of 10 service visits to fix a myriad of items so far. Unit makes lots of unusual noises. Guess what, currently waiting for it to be fixed again. Service plan is taking over 2 weeks for technician to come out. Still waiting and waiting. Last time refrigerator broke, it took over about a month for part to arrive. Also Service Plan's lemon clause only covers 4 events in one year. Count resets each year Contract is renewed. Very unhappy with the products quality. Save yourself the grief and do not buy this lemon!

Worst appliance I have ever owned.

Bought this new and it has only had troubles. Freezer coils freezing, compressor unit, and something called a three way valve have all went bad. The first time it went bad was a couple of days before Thanksgiving. Had to throw away a couple of hundred dollars of food. This time, had to throw away another couple of hundred worth of food. I have nearly paid for the actual fridge twice after taking into account repairs. Now, it is looking I am simply going to have to buy another fridge. Needless to say, I will not be buying another KitchenAid. Horrible!!!

Good Storage But Disappointing Ice System

This product has problems with the ice cube storage. The bin doesn't stay cold enough to keep the cubes from melting into one large clump of ice. This is a replacement for the first refrigerator which had multiple problems as well pertaining to the ice cube system. I was told this is a problem across all models with ice bins in the refrigerator door. This includes other manufactures as well.

I tried 3 of these and all were defective. They had trouble in the freezer section, most with water leakage. Tried to have the first 2 fridges repaired with no success. The 3rd we simply sent back when it began to leak. Had to request a GE model instead.
