Don't get if you regularly use ice

This model has many nice features HOWEVER, the ice cubes are smaller than standard ice cubes. We have run out of ice many times, and always when we entertain. We regularly used the ice dispenser in the door in our old fridge, but the cubes were bigger and didn't melt so quickly. As a result, we have had to resort to buying bagged ice. I have used the MAX ICE feature but I don't notice any change in the production of ice.

I bought my fridge two months ago and I am in love with it, keeps things at their optimal temperature, and the ice maker (crushed is my fave) and water in the door is to die for...don't know how I lived without it!

ice maker continually leaks

I had bought this refrigerator, thinking I was buying a good appliance. I was wrong. the ice maker inside the fridge leaks water on top of the unit inside the fridge. Water leaks on inside of door of fridge also. Inside of door seal where the icemaker is located and all down the door into the freezer at bottom of unit. Had it repaired, with new seals that whirlpool did a quick fix with. Whirlpool knows that the design is bad and they came-up with a hillbilly hook-up. It doesn't work. Having a different company come out to fix again.
Cons: very expensive unit that leaks water, leaks water don't waste your money
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After a lot of research we chose this KitchenAid refrigerator. Chose KitchenAid for quality and value. We wanted the cafe style and one that had the ice maker in the door. This model provided that plus still had good storage space on the same door. The refrigerator space is excellent, lighting is excellent. Temp controls are also very good in drawers etc. Don't love you still need to open both doors to get at meat and cheese large drawer but still love the space. Water filter a plus. Find that ice can stick together probably because it is is door, but not bad. Freezer has large bottom plus 2 other full width slim drawers which sold us on this vs. another similar model. Freezer isn't huge but none of them are in this style. Heard this model was loud, but it is not at all. Overall, happy with this model.
Pros: Design, easy to use, Smart Use Of Space, Performance, Convenient Features

We like the double doors and the pull out freezer features. I was told by the sales person that this freezer is smaller than our old side by side unit but we can easily store more in this freezer and it is much easier access to the food. We like the openness of the refrigerator with it's double doors. Easy to see and access everything.

Great Freezer Space!

I bought this model about a month ago and my freezer has never been so organized. The three drawer design is perfect. No more digging through bins. My only complaint is that the ice kicks out a bit and the water flow is a little slow, but that's a small price to pay for a great frig!
