Disappointed

I am so disappointed in my refridgerator. We have had our unit for 16 months. Only 16 months. We had to have the computer replaced before the warranty ran out. The ice machine was leaking water into the refridgerator. The repair man said he had seen this problem before and it was no problem to replace the ice machine computer and that will fix the issue. It fixed the issue for 7 months. It is leaking again but we are 4 months out of warranty. We also notice early on that it is quite loud. In the last 3 weeks(when the ice problem started again) it seemed to really run loud. It is 1:30 am and I am listening to run from my bedroom. This is my third refridgerator in this house and i have never heard one run from the master. Sad! I love the look, sqft and functionality of this refridgerator, but I would not risk the headaches. I've never wrote a review on a priduct, but felt compelled to share my story. Buyer beware!

Cons: VERY LOUD!!!

Have read several negative reviews and have had some minor issues. It does occasionally make loud compressor noises. In humid weather condensation builds up between freezer and French door seals. The water filter indicates change need based on time not gallons so in our part time home it indicated to change the filter when we used maybe 30 pots of coffee. I am getting an extended warranty because I don't trust it and it was too expensive if it fails. Love the size and layout. Veggies keep well.

We have had this refrigerator for a couple of months. We really, really like this one. We had a beautiful Electrolux for, I think, 6 years and had nothing but problems all of the time, but it was pretty. But this kitchenaid is pretty and wonderful. I'm so proud to not have to worry about it. I read all the reviews and yes it can be a little noisy, but we don't sleep in the kitchen and the noises are just those little sounds that you get used to with any appliance. I love it!

So far we have been very satisfied with the look and set up of the Refridgerator. There seems to be a lot of useful space. 3 things that bother me are 1) the rolling mechanism of the freezer drawer is very loud and 2) the motor (or fan?) of the fridge is kind of loud. We have an open concept kitchen family room, and we noticed it immediately. Definitely louder then our old fridge. 3) the water/ice dispenser is a little finiky. You have to put pressure on the dispenser just right. That makes it a little tough for the kids. Still, a very nice upgrade.

Cons: Noisy, finiky water dispenser

One noisey refrigerator

I have never had a refrigerator that is as noisey as this Kitchenaide. Something is alway running making high and low pitch noises with popping sounds and groans 90% of the time. I don't think the thing ever rest.
When you open the bottom freezer drawer it sounds like the track is made of ball bearings with no lube. Kitchenaide you need to come and listen to this drawer. Service replaced the tracks once, but no improvement.
I will admit the unit looks nice, but drive it for a few days and you sure won't give it much more than 2 stars for the investment.

I bought appliances the day before thanksgiving and had a large number if people over for dinner. This was the first time I've ever been able to get all the food in the upstairs fridge. This fridge has great options and my kids love the bottom freezer design. I like it because there are actually 2 drawers in there too and they haven't noticed yet. With 5 boys in the house it's hard to keep anything and now I can actually keep some food that they all don't notice and eat up right away!
