The Good Ice but an Investment!

Perfect fit for as a built in our new kitchen, but expensive for an appliance. I bought panel ready version as it is next to a wine fridge that is not a GE brand and I didn't want the stainless steel colors to clash. Makes tons of ice for our active family living in the desert! If you purchase this item you have to make sure you can plumb water to machine and attach to a drain for the pump. This is not a standard on the counter plug in ice machine.

Wasting water

We just installed this nugget ice maker in the last month and have now discovered that it's dumping 5 gallons of water in less than 48 hours when it's not even producing new ice. This doesn't seem right or normal. I am unable to determine if this is working as designed in which case I am going to need to return this environmentally unfriendly ice maker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When your storage bin is full, the unit will turn off and not circulate water. So if water is being used, it is not working as intended. Seems to be poorly designed and built product

Bought this and the first one was faulty with a broken part that leaked water every where. Replacement part was a couple of months from being delivered so received a replacement unit. It worked and made ice and didn't leak (yet) but we had to unplug it because about once an hour it made a blood curling loud noise that would wake the dead. It is unusable with this noise. It isn't just the noise from the drain pump this is a noise you could hear if you were outside the house and lasts about a minute or two. But it happens almost every hour. There is no way any respectable company would think this would be acceptable. Or if so I could like to put it in the CEO's house for a couple of nights and see what they think about it after living with it. It is costing me a small fortune to have had to pay to have it installed twice and the plumbers to come out to see what the leak was. So far I am out for three plumber visits and still it doesn't work. At some point a company has to stand behind its product and make it right for the consumer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
