Waste of $

We have had this unit for almost two years and it has not worked consistently. Reach out to GE and we’re told to call a repair tech , they don’t have any in our area. We did that and the person had no idea how it worked. Biggest waste of money ever. So tired of appliances not lasting or working when they cost a small fortune and manufacturers not standing behind them or having personnel to fix them !
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My wife has always loved the nugget ice that she received from a local restaurant. This has made a great addition to our home and produces ice very quickly and with great quality.

Seems to be poorly designed and built product

Bought this and the first one was faulty with a broken part that leaked water every where. Replacement part was a couple of months from being delivered so received a replacement unit. It worked and made ice and didn't leak (yet) but we had to unplug it because about once an hour it made a blood curling loud noise that would wake the dead. It is unusable with this noise. It isn't just the noise from the drain pump this is a noise you could hear if you were outside the house and lasts about a minute or two. But it happens almost every hour. There is no way any respectable company would think this would be acceptable. Or if so I could like to put it in the CEO's house for a couple of nights and see what they think about it after living with it. It is costing me a small fortune to have had to pay to have it installed twice and the plumbers to come out to see what the leak was. So far I am out for three plumber visits and still it doesn't work. At some point a company has to stand behind its product and make it right for the consumer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the quality and size of the ice

Wanted ice that one could crunch. This machine delivered everything we were looking for in the quality and production. When making drinks at the bar, the glasses frost which raises the quality of the drinking experience. We were able to install a matching door which made it seamless in our bar.

The Best Ice Maker!

My husband got me this ice maker for Christmas. We were in the middle of a remodel and he surprised me with it. It is an exceptional ice maker. We have had several but not the “sonic” ice kind. The ice maker is quiet, efficient and perfect - it is beyond what I expected because there is just no comparison to the others. We couldn’t be happier with our purchase of this ice maker.

Know that if you have hard water, the mineral deposits from the hard water can turn black and show up on the unit, making it seem like there is mold in the unit. We do also advise that you check to see if you have hard water.
